Start 12,500 ac with Honda 2200

Anyone using EU 2200 without easy start to run AC under 3000 feet?

There's been several examples on the web, youtube included, in my research that shows a eu2200i able to run a 13.5k BTU A/C without easystart. So a 12.5k A/C is possible. Can't say 100% for certain as it's a matter of margin, but if there's any 2000W class generator that will do it, an eu2200i will have the best chance. Go for it!

Hi

If the charger/converter is doing it's thing getting the battery back up to "full" ... not going to happen.

What Bob is saying is that you'll want to pay attention to the converter. You'll want to turn it off if you're trying to run the A/C with a 2000W generator.

I do the same on mine when running my 13.5k A/C on my eu2200i by turning off breaker #2, and making sure not to run any other high power 120V devices, e.g. microwave. Works great and a better compromise IMO, than dragging around a 3000W+ class generator, for the way I use my trailer.

Make sure hot water heater is on propane and fridge is on "Gas" (not Auto) as well.
