A thin piece of wood to stuff into that gap between the bed frame and the closet or bathroom wall because it's a black hole that eats everything like a book or your keys when you're just about to go somewhere and you can see it if you lie on the floor just right but you can't fish it out even though you wasted 20 minutes trying and you end up having to prop up the mattress and take a screwdriver and pull up half the bottom of the bed to get at it!

I donít like the idea of repacking wheel bearings every year. Anyone replaced the bearings on the sport with the Nev-r-lube version? I want to get as maintenance free as possible (lithium at end of 2019) and the bearings seem like an unnecessary hassle

Perhaps you missed the tone of this thread....
There is no such thing as "maintenance free" bearings. Either remove, clean, inspect, repack with grease and reinstall ...in some regular fashion... Or sit on the side of the road with a damaged Airstream on a trip some day. (You will not likely hear a bearing going bad on a trailer until it disintegrates and the wheel tries to leave the axle.)

Personally, after a career in vehicle maintenance, I do not think it necessary to do it annually. I do it on a mileage basis and never drive thru water deeper than the tire (about 6".) I do my bearings every third year or 20K miles.

Didnít miss the tone at all, the Ďas maintenance free as possible Ď part is what I am going after. Since the Nev-R-Lube versions donít require repacking, that goes a long way toward my goal. I would expect that I can swap out for those bearings at my first main maintenance cycle, but was looking for some confirmation. Thanks

What do you mean you bought a bumper?
There is a model offered without a bumper? How does that work?

Sports do not come stock with a bumper. It is an add on.

Banker's boxes

These are my low-tech carry-alls for getting my stuff to the Bambi and back (I'm in a condo and my Airstream lives in a nearby storage lot). Light, easy to label, stack, and tote with a little fold-up hand-truck dolly.

What I like best is that they break down flat and take up little space in the tow vehicle during the trip. Easy to set one up, and I use one or two to load up movable items and secure them for travel in between campgrounds.

Heavy-duty is a good long-term investment.

Sport 16. While at mothership having warranty work done we had a swivel light added over an end (under speaker) of the dinette (for reading when turned into bed) and a 12 volt DC cigarette plug added under the dinette.
