Exclamation Sport 22' sink warning!!

When closing sink lid, always make sure on/off valve nob is DOWN.
Have seen some buried comments on this.
We suggested to Airstream that a warning sticker be posted on sink..no results.
Our on/off nob was up, closing sink lid turns on water in sink, tank fills & water comes up through shower drain and floods trailer. If you re lucky, trailer is down in bathroom and most of the water drains out the back.
A warning sticker would really help.

High on my upgrade list is a new conventional sink.

I had read about this, and asked about it during our dealer walk thru. The dealer person had not heard about it. But once I took a good look I understood what to do to avoid this.

Agree that a small sticker with a picture of yes, and no with a red slash across it would be a welcome piece of information.

No one is likely to figure this out unless told about it.

Many of us either turn off the water or turn off the pump when we are leaving the trailer for a while

Yeah, I thankfully figured out quickly this risk. Good idea for the label - maybe I'll print up a durable label for the lid to this effect JIC

Another reason to turn off the water is In case of a pipe leak the whole trailer won't flood.

We're on the road in Calgary, Canada and will be leaving for Glacier National Park tomorrow. Can anyone recommend a campground on the east side of the park?

An easy fix:

The lever is easily unscrewed from the faucet. A knife blade will pop off the plastic button from the end of the lever. A bench grinder will easily remove about 3/16" of length from the lever...the button can be re-inserted...and the lever screwed back into the faucet.

Now the lid will not contact the lever. Works for us. (Even tho' we never leave the pump on when we're not in the trailer.)

Fix is in

New here on the forum so this may be an old subject:

I think the discussion is primarily about the fold-over sink faucet? If so, just got my 2018 and it has Moen residential single leaver faucet (non foldable) and double ss sinks. So this is AS's fix I think. If not please advise.

Stream on...

I'm guessing but I would bet that if a pole were taken everyone that has this sink design has been "bitten by this bug"! If not it's just a matter of time and not "if but when" they will.

The problem really hasn't much to do with leaving the pump on but rather...the "silent nemesis of being hooked up to shore water"! You open the sink lid...use the water and shut it off....but without thinking the level is left in the wrong position....you close the lid....and before you know it the sink is over flowing. Especially, if the sink drain is in the closed position. Ask me how I know!

The sink on the 2018 Sport 22 is a standard design with an external, countertop-mounted faucet.

I installed a 3m water alarm on the floor under the sink and the wardrobe cabinet in my 22FB
