Sport 16 Tire Safety

Have read lots about trailer tire blow outs and upsizing to 15" tires. A few questions for 16 owners about tire safety.

1) Has anyone changed out to a different tire in the same size? Like Maxxis M8008 Radial (rated for higher speed), or Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C
2) Thoughts on upgrading to a D rated tire (from the stock C's)? Like Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D
3) Speed limit with a trailer is 55 (in California) although no one does that. What speed do you normally drive?
4) Any lessons learned that can make 14" tires safer?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yesterday I replaced my tires on 2015 Bambi with Goodyear Endurance 14". I keep my speed around 60 mph. I check tires frequently when traveling.

I also upgraded to the GY Endurance D rated tire when we got our 2006 Bambi. From reading the issues with the GYM, dual axle trailers had bigger issues, but I didn't want to take chances. I also put in a set of tire temperature monitors.

i added an eez tire monitoring system with 6 wires probes

every 5 seconds it sends me each of the 6 tire pressure and temp.

you set a low and high alarm for each axle.

blowout or slow leak will be detected and alarmed to you quickly
