Mattress topper

We purchased a (blue) gel memory foam topper from costco & cut it to fit the 2 twin beds in our 28 foot safari. We placed them on top of the mattresses that came with the airstream. They work fine for us. They do come on sale as well.

More great ideas!

Thanks very much for pointing out the weight issue. Something I hadn't pondered on a -5 degree night, while the Airstream rests comfortably in a heated garage miles away...

I'll check out the Costco option - hopefully, I can get one of those allergy encapsulating mattress covers to seal in the grossness - and perhaps a topper alone will be good. I've got to hand it to Tempurpedic... maybe it's their marketing, but my back swears by my bed!

I got an awesome queen size foam and memory foam mattress from Ikea, in the clearance area, still rolled up in the package (they had a skid of them, twin, dbl, qu, k), $126 CD. That would be a good place to check if you have an Ikea near you.

We have a Costco topper as well. When you trim them to fit the bed contours, an electric carving knife does a great job. Much easier than scissors.

Source for new mattress? Better yet, Tempurpedic??

A Tempurpedic queen weighs 25-30 lbs more than a conventional mattress. So that weight is not a issue for us but comfort is... Lol

Foam Topper on mattress.

We find that an 'electric knife' cuts those foam toppers about better than anything. We marked ours and trimmed it with an electric knife as we held the topper just high enough to keep from cutting the actual mattress. Worked great!
