Sewer Solution

Finding it a pain to store and handle the sewer slinky. Will a sewer solution work ok with a bambi 16 or will it blast black water into the shower?

I have been using the Sewer Solution for almost ten years with three different Airstreams. I don't see why it wouldn't work great on your Bambi.

Thanks Moosetags, got the idea of the SS from your posts. Just wasn't sure about the 16 which only has a black tank.

I am aware of the 16 Bambi's single tank. I don't see where that should have any impact on the Sewer Solution. It should operate just like it does with a dedicated black tank.

I think it would work just fine, I would use the back flush feature with caution though, not that it works that well to begin with.

We use ours and I just add more water to the tank(s) to keep flushing until it runs clear. I dump my tanks every trip, and typically do a heavy flushing a couple of times a year depending on the amount of use they get.

I also use the GeoMethod of keeping my tanks cleaned.

Thank you very much for the tip on the GeoMethod of tank cleaning. Both SuEllyn and I read the article completely, and plan to give it a try. We already have a list to buy the supplies today.

Your welcome. We have used it for years on a wide variety of RV's over the years and it has served us well. I finally got around to dumping our black tank from a trip over a week ago... No odor

The Sewer Solution is also very good for discharging waste up to 60' or so. This might allow you to reach your sewer washout opening and dump your RV. This feature has come in quite handy!

Yep, we have a sewer clean out only 10 feet away from our driveway but slightly uphill so think this is another benefit of a SS. Also, the campground we stayed in last week in Florida had a high lift into the dump hole so I had to lift and work the slinky to get it to dump. The Bambi sits low and there is not much drop, so can see this being an ongoing problem. I am ordering a SS tonight.

I was a Sewer Solutions skeptic until I finally broke down and purchased one. We now have two and I've given several away as gifts. I'm a Sewer Solutions convert.

We just got home from a trip & used our Sewer Solution & it worked great. We have only used this trailer twice & noticed each time when we got home a sewage smell inside the trailer when we get home. The water in the Sewer Solution looked clear when we left the park today. I am going to clean the tank but any ideas as to whybhe smell?

Are you putting some water in the tank after dumping and adding a holding tank disinfectant so it sloshes around on the trip home?

I have a Bambi, but it's the 19' and has 2 tanks.

I received my first Sewer Solution from my dad. I'll never go back to a regular slinky.

I've now paid back the favor of my dad's gift, and gifted one to a friend that camps with us often.

I am guessing you also gave it a 2+ minute rinse through the back flush port? You might try a wand through the toilet in case the (pardon the expression) "crap" has adhered to the tank. Also, might try a different holding tank disinfectant. I am leery of some of the "natural" ones as there are times when you want something concentrated and nasty to fight the nasties in the tank.

We did a long flush but only did the wand in the toilet after the 1st trip.

Thanks.

Suggestion that I read about somewhere on the Internet. The black tank is not a septic tank. It is a holding tank. Most commercial RV holding tank products are repackaged chemical or enzyme based septic tank products. After dumping and flushing, add 1 cup each of Calgon water softener, liquid dish soap and bleach with 1 gal of water. Add to tank. It is supposed to lubricate, clean and sanatize in one step. I am currently trying it for the first time. So far seems to be working ok.

I have places a quick disconnect to my internal tank inlet. Similar to that found on the Sewer Solution. After I dump my black water tank using the sewer solution, I switch my gray colored supply water hose from the SS to the airstream internal sprayers; rinse a while, then switch back hose, drain tanks through the SS setup, and repeat.

Like the system. Only use the slinky when a communal dump stations and there is a line...

This makes more sense than just about anything I have read on holding tanks. We do not use the RV facilities for solid waste because it ALWAYS smells. Maybe if it was treated correctly it would not. Hopefully I can find some more on this logical approach.

I found the original article with more information.
