segment protectors held with expansion nuts?

I gotta get this confirmed before drilling our new Bambi. Will post here first and see what turns up.

Apparently the new segment protectors drop-shipped from Airstream for our Sport 16 are intended to be installed with rubber expansion nuts...not the conventional piano hinge and brackets method. Not that that's a bad thing. I can see how they'd work, and how they'd greatly speed up installation and perhaps result in less total holespace to be drilled...we're talking six big holes for the new method instead of numerous little holes for pop rivets and/or hinge screws for the old method. Plus, the expansion nuts expand to form their own sealant.

At least, that's how I suspect they're to be installed. The major clue is the six expansion nuts, spacers, and screws in each hardware pack...which coincides with the six hand-marked (via Sharpie) spots on each wrap. (circled in attached pic)

Some pics below in case this all sounds Greek. Got a major trip planned in less than three weeks, so there's time to figure this out, but not alot. Anyways, I'm being too wordy. Here's pics:

Well whaddya know? Found an installation vid confirming the rubber "well nut" attachment method. Euro version shown, but the method is the same.
