Satellite hook-up

I just purchased a 2014 19 ft Bambi. I can't for the life of me find the number they refer to so you can switch from the antenna to a satellite dish. Any ideas?

On my 2013 Serenity they have a HDMI cable from the DVD to the TV. If I had satellite I think the unit is supposed go on top of the DVD player, then share the HDMI to the TV. I don't have the jumper either. The manual is not informative on this point.

If you have a satellite, you have a "box" that it connects to, correct? If there is a second input on your TV (a second HDMI one) run an HDMI cable to that from the satellite "box" (receiver).

If no second HDMI input is available on the TV, there are surely other jacks to connect to the TV, depending on what outputs you have on the satellite receiver and TV.

Got the pRt connecting the box to the tv. How to you connect the satellite to the box? There is the exterior hook- up but where is the interior hook- up coming from the satellite?

I suppose you could re-wire the external output to make it an input, and run the interior connection of that lead to the satellite input connection on the satellite receiver.

Failing that, you will need to find a way to pass the lead from the satellite (outside) to the satellite receiver (inside), perhaps through an existing vent on the roof, or under the trailer near the refer.

My TT is 40 years older than yours, so I don't think anything I have experienced in that operation (leads in through the TT skin) would be relative to your situation.

I connect the cable from the dish to the outside connection where you would connect to an RV park cable. On the inside, rather than connecting to the TV, connect to the sat input on the box. Then connect the box TV output to the TV. That's the way I do it.

We have an '06 19 Bambi, so I am assuming the set-up is similar if not the same as ours. There should a cable/satellite IN coax hookup point near where the roof antenna hookup is (on the wall near the foot of the bed area). Simply take the coax cable off the TV roof antenna connection and move it to the satellite IN coax connection... Then take the other end of that cable off the TV and hook it up to the in-port of the satellite box...then connect the cable from the satellite box to the TV where the other cable was connected. In essence you are connecting to the incoming statellite and connecting the satellite box between the incoming connection and the TV.

(We had to do this same thing in an RV park, except using a cable box which was necessary in order to receive the cable signal. There were video connections to make as well, so the TV had to be set a "source" of AV to get the picture...that may or may not apply in your situation.)

On our trailer the connection on the outside is connected to a connection on the inside, from which I run a cable to the "sat in" on the box. When using an RV park cable, the outside connection goes to the park cable and I connect the inside connection directly to the TV. In other words the same connection does one job or the other.

After all this the answer is the new jumper is an A/B switch that needs to be added to the blue ray player. Most dealers don't even know this.
