Rusty screws from inside

I am laying new vinyl flooring in our 2006 Bambi and decided to take the couch out and the bed base loose from the floor. All screws removed have been rusted. I would think that using the proper screws, rusting would not be happening. The only leak I had was under the couch from the water pump---thankfully caught before any damage. I will replace all with rustproof screws. Has anyone else had this problem and does this mean there is something going on that I should know about.

I suspect this is just caused by normal sweating with temperature extremes and also the amount of moisture we put in the air using the trailer. I don't think it indicates any serious problem with the trailer. Using plated hardware can't hurt

I've found that the best bet is to replace the srews with stainless. Every time I remove screws in the trailer whether in floor or the walls SS replaces them.

Want to thank ya'll...You certainly put my mind at ease. I hadn't thought about the moisture. Thanks much and will get the stainless. Tom

Rust, Screws

We keep a dehumidifier running inside the trailer all the time when it is not in use. It collects a lot if water here in Portland, Oregon even when the weather is dry.

We have a different problem with screws. They're too short. We've replaced several which have pulled out. I carry extra screws when we go out.

We bought the trailer new thinking every thing Airstream was premium. This was a false assumption. The design of the shell is extraordinary but the fixtures and workmanship are not.
