Do you have a website (Airstreams?) to look this up on. I don’t have that trailer, but I do inspect my stuff frequently. Would be ‘good to know’ info if I could see where other people are having problems.

No, I don't.

Airstream sent me a letter from Ohio about it.

We Sport owners will all get one sooner or later. USDOT requirement.

When or if our Dealers can accommodate the mod is anyone's guess. I will likely hope for November or December when they are not so busy.

I would like to ignore it but looking in my rear camera and seeing the spare tire and carrier on the highway (and the lawsuit) would make me think otherwise.

It may not affect yours, either.

I'd not be surprised if it was only the 19 foot series.

My dealer told me they had to order the new tire hanger from the factory.

My recall was fixed.

All they did was replace the spare tire bracket on the front of the frame where it clips in. It had nothing to do with the part that supports the tire under the trailer.



On the bracket you see attached to the frame with the two bolts, they only welded one side of the end that is secured with the cross pin.

I looked at the one they took off, and sure enough, it was only welded on ONE SIDE.

Cheap @$!@!@ !

I Hope nobody got hurt.
