Question Pricing HELP

Things seem to be rolling along alot quicker than I anticipated. I am negotiating with a couple of dealerships in the U.S. (I'm Canadian eh) and pricing seems to be an issue of course. I know the Canadian prices, but am wondering if anyone has had recent experience with shopping for a 2005 Bambi 19ft. I want the LS Package, extra fantastic fan ( as per forum advice) and range cover. No one is telling me list, but I am being quoted in the $32,600 range. Is this in the ballpark...

That price if US seems a bit high. The base (US) price of a Bambi for 2005 is $35,553.00 without the LS package which I believe costs about $1900 retail. You can find the base price here on the Airstream site:

http://www.airstream.com/product_lin...ari_plans.html

Typically the average discount off list is about 17%, but folks have seen about 19% in most cases. So adding the numbers, you should be closer to $30k(US) for an LS equipped 19' Bambi(plus tax, title, etc) without any trade in. Also keep a look out for dealer prep fees that are obnoxiously high with some dealers and are add profit add ons. I would pay little to no added line item dealer prep fee.

BTW, using the exhange rates as of this evening, $30k US would be equiv to $38,750.97 Canadian.

Thankyou. That was my feeling but not having the experience, was reluctant to say so. $38000,still may seem like a lot, but from what I've been reading in these pages it should last more than my lifetime.....

Can't take it with you, so might as well enjoy it while you can...at least that's the way I look at it. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Best of luck hunting.

Not a bad price, but also keep in mind as was the case with the 2004 model year, the 2005 model year had a price increase, making it a thousand or so more, depending on model.

Thanks for all the input. I have found a dealer who I think in treating me fairly. A 2005 with CSA upgrade ( we're Canadian) safari ( LS ) upgrade. Bifold range cover and equal-i-zer installed for 30900. List was about $38000, before the cost of the Equal-i-zer.I figure cost on the hitch to be about $380 U.S.I am tired of looking and it seems fair to me. Don't know much about the Equl-i-zer, but from what I have read it seems like a good addition. Now for the long wait. Anxious parents.
