my SO wanted a drying solution. Not all camp ground have trees and or nicely spaced strong posts to run a clothes line
so i built one after finding a special part in a boat store. its the rubber clip that screws into the bumper and the bottom horizontal pole pivots on it
- using 1' square alum stock
- drill holes are solid 1/4" alum bar stock
- get PVC pipes that has ID just over 1/4"
- cut them all to the same length
- drill holes into the end of the bar stock so that hitch pins fit
- put the solid bar stock into the PVC pipe
- clip the hitch pins onto one side
- from one end start align the solid bar on the others side
- now you have what looks like a ladder
- since all the items are cut to the same length, the ladder is fairly rigid
- screw the rubber mount onto the bumber
- push the bottom of the ladder onto the rubber mount
- now decide what angle you want he rack to be at when in use
- i used aircraft SS cable with turnbuckles
.
it all comes apart and stores as just a bunch of linear stock
here is what it looks like
