Plumbing question

I just bought a Sport 22FB today, and will be picking it up on 4/27. During my pre-purchase look, I noticed that it does not have a tube installed for adding antifreeze to the system to winterize it. I will be adding one.

I am used to PEX tubing since that is what the RV I am trading in has. What kind of tubing is in the Sport 22FB? I want to be prepared so when I cut the line before the water pump, I won't run into any problems.

Thanks,

Bobbo

I believe you can get a kit from the dealer for this without any cutting.

I did not see the need as I blow out the lines with an air compressor and just add antifreeze to the drains and toilet bowl.

You can get the kit at Wal-Mart. You will need to open the line to the inlet to the pump to install the 3 way valve.

Roger that! Thank you.

Now for planning how to add a 2 gallon accumulator tank. That was a lifesaver in the old RV. It stopped water pulsation and let us (old folks) flush the toilet all night without the pump cutting on to wake up the spouse. Of course, it helps that the water pump is not directly under the bed on this RV.

Do you not have a flexible hose on the inlet side of your pump with a threaded connection to the trailer's fixed piping?

That is the way mine was set up - all I need do is unscrew the flex hose (by hand - no tools needed) and stick the suction hose into a gallon jug of antifreeze.

The flex hose also serves to isolate vibration/nose from the pump also so that it runs very quietly. I have a length of flex hose on both sides of the pump for this reason.

Don't know. When we pick it up in 3 weeks, I will definitely check.

Thanks

To answer your question, the AS also uses PEX.

You can just unscrew the intake hose to the pump and put it in the bottle of antifreeze, depending on if there is enough room and hose length to do so. Otherwise, install one of these kits.

Thanks
