You're talking about the Gross VEHICLE Weight Rating
I'm talking about the Gross COMBINED Weight Rating: the maximum allowable combined mass of a tow vehicle, passengers and cargo in the tow vehicle, plus the mass of the trailer and cargo in the trailer.
