No more dreamin' ... 2005 Bambi

We finally did it. Sometime in mid March, our new 2005 Bambi Safari 19 will arrive. We ordered it with an ultra-leather covered sofa instead of the dinette, the LS upgrade package, the range cover, and the combined micro-wave/convection oven instead of the oven, all done up in the Stratus color scheme. We are very excited! We ordered the sofa because we love watching old movies on the DVD and even eat most meals at home on the sofa. We had a lot of trouble deciding between the CCD and the Safari version, Miriam leaning one way and me leaning the other. We liked 'em both. We can hear the highway callin' our names and can't wait to get out on the road. Hope to meet up with lots of you on the road ...

Eat your heart out DreamStream!! My dealer called this morning and said our new 25' Classic has arrived !!! We're packed and heading to Tex. in the morning, about 450 miles from here. Plans are to take delivery Thurs. morning then spend a few days in their RV resort to check things out. They're having a Rally this weekend also. looks like we'll get to enjoy that also. You're in for a lot of sleepless nights if you're like us. Ours was supposed to come in last Tuesday but there was some kind of a glitch and it didn't show. Can hardly wait. Good luck with your's---------Pieman

Congrats on your new bambi. We just took delivery of a 2004 31 ft. Classic a week ago. It was a leftover at Bill Thomas campers in St.Louis. We live in Florida so we had us a pretty good ride. Ours also has the ultra leather sofa, you are going to love that sofa . Good luck and hope to see you along the road.

Congrats on your new trailer. He have an '04 19' Bambi CCD and really love it. What exactly is the LS upgrade? Also what type of hitch are you going to use and what are you pulling it with?

Thanks all! The LS upgrade is a package of options that I believe are standard on the CCD. The LS upgrade includes ...

Spare tire
Fantastic fan (living room)
No fuss flush black tank rinsing system
Aquajet water pump
Cast taillights (international type)
Electric hitch jack
13,500 BTU A/C with heat pump
Jackets & caps (2 ea)
Pure Touch Classic filtering faucet with separate sprayer
Screen door guard
LS graphics

We will be pulling it with a 2005 Ford F150 Regular Cab STX. It is a pretty basic truck with no carpet, roll-up windows and manual locks. We just bought it last night and are pretty excited about it also. Ford has some great rebates going on ($ 3,000.00 cash back) and were able to buy this brand new truck for only $ 19,000.00. It has the small V8, factory tow package, 3.55 limited slip rear end, cruise control, and an AM/FM stereo with an in-dash six CD changer. The wheelbase is 125.8 which I think will be fine for the Bambi along with a 7,200 lb tow rating and an 1,810 lb. payload. We were impressed with the amount of space behind the seat in the regular cab on the new Ford and will make a nice bed area for our watch-pup, Wellington.

I have had an Equal-I-zer in the past and was very happy with it so that is what we're going to do again. Although, we may take some shorter week-enders using nothing at all. Hoping to do a lot of week-enders and extended week-enders for the next seven years till we retire.

Congratulations on your Bambi, your going to love it! We got ours in October and think it's our best purchase made in 30+ years of marriage.

Also take a pic of the couch..sounds awesome! Just back from a quick weekend trip here at the beach in San Diego, we switched our dinette to seating for the first time and loved it. Will be on the phone to AS as we'd like to keep the dinette option but want to customize the cushions and hope they have a fix, as it gives each of us a big corner cushion to lounge on with plenty of room for books, knitting bag, etc.

Here's to many happy memories in your new Bambi!!!

Congratulations on your decision...sounds like a great setup. We toured the AS factory a few weeks ago and were able to go in a few near the end of the assembly line. Sat on a sofa like the one you ordered, it's going to be fantastic! Now to help pass the time while it is being built you can think about what you will need to outfit it.

Happy Trails,
Randi

Thanks again to all for the congratulations! It is amazing how many things a sewing/decorating/antiqueing/crafts/world-class-shopping type of wife can think of that we "need" to outfit the Bambi with. Had to put my foot down this weekend at the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival when Miriam found an antique red scale with weights that "would look great on the shelf behind the sofa" but weighed in at 53 lbs.
