I assume you understand that it doesn't have a swing door is because a swing door will interfere with the bathroom entrance door. My 26' has a sliding door for the same reason.
the FC and caravel lines with 22/23 models and higher have the same size bathroom as the bambi and past sport. all the cabinet and door locations are the same for those that have a rear bathroom.
thus the shower door is a simple replacement.
its just a higher end feature in those models
this is done to keep AS costs down. the more common parts, the lower cost of doing business
I guess it's a matter of personal preference but I'd take the disappearing shower screen over a door in the trailer. They retail for nearly $200, so I doubt it's any cheaper than a solid door made from a sheet of plastic and some aluminum extrusion. Good luck with you project I'm sure it will look nice!
I will be interested in how this works out. The disappearing shower screen really feels cheap to me, but I will admit it makes sense as far as being space efficient, so perhaps just a matter of getting used to it.
I recall a Colonial Airstream YouTube video where when Patrick was describing the 22FB disappearing shower curtain/screen. In the video he commented that they had never had to replace a sliding shower curtain/screen at Colonial.
Was this curtain/screen replaced due to breaking or personal preference.
Did you follow through on this upgrade? Would like to see the results, but I will also say after traveling around for more than a month with our FC20, I am OK with the disappearing door/screen. Not really thrilled with the "letting it go to shed water" procedure where it slams shut, but otherwise I think it does make more sense than a solid door and the potential problems with that.
