Ahhhchhhh ! Sorry Tom, I misread your post and had it in my head that you did have current to the socket.

You're right, my fuse pullin' idea ain't gonna do much good here.

This is an interesting one, keep us posted as to what you find.

I have s 79 34' Avion with a similar light on the road side back by the service door. Inside the service door is an on off rocker switch that operates the light for mine. Have you looked inside the water hook up service door. I didn't notice in the thread that you have, but I may have missed it.

Has anyone with the same model/year been able to check the service manual diagrams to see if this item is listed in them? Possibly as an optional light?

I have this exact same light on my 20'. It is turned on by the third switch from the right on the switches on the right as you enter the door. The same switch turns on a like light on the curb site. I think it is standard.
