We have a microwave and Bunn k-cup brewer "strapped" to the dining table, near the window. Both are sitting on non-skid, rubber shelf-liner material; and a nylon-web strap runs over them, and under the table, to hold them to the table top. This doesn't sound very secure; but we have driven thousands of miles with them on the table, and they have never budged.
The microwave sits on a PC monitor stand, which has a gap underneath. And, a bamboo silverware drawer (from Costco) is slid under the microwave in this gap. When pulled out, the drawer contains coffee k-cups, sweetener and creamer packets, and a couple of coffee spoons.
It's great not having to store the microwave and coffee brewer in boxes somewhere in our Bambi, while driving; and then having to get them out each time we want to use them. The only slight inconvenience is having to remove and protective-wrap the glass plate (that goes in the bottom of the microwave) to prevent breakage.
This works well for us, because we no longer need to convert the dining table to a bed.
(Unfortunately, last summer, we lost our teenage granddaughters to the shopping mall and their friends. If you have grandkids, enjoy their company on camping trips while you can; because this day comes sooner than you think.)
