Air suspension should "NEVER" be used with a load equalizing hitch.
The insurance division of Airstream, Caravanner Insurance, proved many years ago, that to do so "DEFEATS" the real purpose of the hitch, and encourages "loss of control".
However, if so equipped, disable the system, lower the pressure to minimum, and then hook up the trailer.
That method does not harm the load equalizing hitch purpose or effectiveness.
Proof of the pudding. Go to a scale, and measure all the tire weights, with and without the air system functioning.
