Lift Kit on 22' Sport

Installed the other half of the kit on my 2018 22FB Sport and love the results.

As others notes, my copper propane line ran through the existing axle bracket. The pipe must have been inserted through the axle bracket before the pipe ends were flared, as it did not fit back out. Since I didn't have a replacement propane line on hand, I just bent the copper pipe down to the new axle position. It's not ideal having the propane line hanging down a few inches from the under-body, but it also seems highly unlikely that it will get snagged on something.

Hey wackywander. I'm new to forum . But I'll take the other half of the lift kit . I have a 2019 sport 22. I've read this whole thread and I want to lift mine. I'm in NJ. Does paypal work for you ?

I recommend you insulate that copper pipe from chafeing where it contacts your axle supports with some rubber hose or foam pipe insulation and tye-wraps.

Or, to make it easier to install,get some corrugated 'split loom' from the auto parts store.

Measure the copper first to see what inside diameter (I.D.) split loom you might need. I'd bet a minimum of 1/2 inch split loom.

It looks like corrugated tubing, and has been slit lengthwise so you can easily put it over the pipe by just sliding it on once you get it started. Handy stuff for protecting exposed wiring also.

Slip it on, and secure it with a few black nylon tie-wraps or spot wraps of quality black electrical tape at 1-2 foot intervals and at the ends of the run.

I must admit that it just blows me away that the factory thinks it makes sense to run a propane line like that. I'm sure I'll be cussing them roundly when I put a lift kit on mine...

Does anyone know what is the original clearance on the 22' Sport, before doing the lift? I've tried to find that spec, but not turning up anything other than "too low"...

Looking at possibly doing the same thing on my Argosy. From the old manual, I have the info: Ground clearance ... 16" to underbelly, 12" to axle tube.

I know my axle is shot, but at least I know where it supposedly started... so equivalent info for the Sport would be great.

I am adding a photo of the clearance of my 2018 Sport 22FB before adding the lift kit. It shows only 8 inches of clearance from the lowest point: the skid protecting the drain.

I just went out and measured clearances on my 22 sport, after the 3" lift. This is with the unit pretty much at capacity as far as load (full of gear and full water tank):

10 7/8" to axle (unchanged by lift kit)
18" to underbody (15" before lift kit)
11" low point in front, spare tire holder (8" before lift kit)
10.5" low point in back, sewer drain (7.5" before lift kit)

The lowest point of concern for me was the sewer drain which was 7-1/2" before and almost 11" after.

That's exactly the info I needed. I can measure things next week on the Argosy, and have a much better educated guess... most likely it's a go.
