Just ordered my new Airstream !!!

Hi,

We have decided to change our SOB and go with a beautiful airstream. I want one since ever so I am really excited. The model and colour we wanted ( after I life of reflexion, I know exactly what I want ) was not in stock . So the dealer ordered directly from Airstream. Do you know how long it should take to get it ? When I should obtain the serial number for my unit ?

So exited ! I can’t wait !!! We already planned some camping expeditions and named this jowel Minnie

Note to all before getting too bothered with lack of syntax, spelling and grammatical errors; our newest member is from Quebec Canada and is probably Francaphone.

Congrats

Félicitation. C'est ce modèle qu'on a vu qui nous a fait tomber en amour avec les Airstream il y deux ans, pendant notre voyage à travers le pays.

You should plan a road trip to BC next summer. We will guide you ;-)

Cheers!

We like your TT name. We have her Southern older sister “Minnie”, a 25’ FC FB Twin, in the Houston, TX area. She says “Hey”. And that’s Southernese. Haha

Once it gets in Airstream's system your dealer should be able to give you a rough estimate on delivery and you maybe could get a serial number. But typically it takes several months to get a new one out the door.

A couple months ago we ordered or new Custom 30. Dealer got it into the system and was able to give us a production date right away. Just talked to the dealer yesterday and the date is still good. (Starts production Sept 2nd!)

My dealer said once it is in the system, they pretty much stay on schedule. Ours will be finished Sept 10th.

Zut Alors...We were in your shoes in January. Our new Airstream arrived end of April. Dealer provided the build date a few weeks after we ordered. It was built, shipped, prepped and delivered on time. Dealer (Southland RV) was great before and after delivery. No issues with the Airstream after 3 weekend and 2 week long trips.

Welcome to this group.

Congratulations on the new coach. You are going to see lots of smiles. The 16s are especially adept at making folks joyful. Looking to see your smile down the road. Pat

Once the dealer places the order with Airstream you will be given the approximate build date and VIN #. Had mine within a few business days of signing paperwork and placing deposit.

We ordered our 2018 Classic 30RB Twin on October 7 and took delivery May 5.
In June while Alumapalooza we learned from the Airstream team that the backlog was around 3,000 units.

I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and Airstream said late October. So, 2 1/2 months is a good estimate

I truly hope you have a great experience as I was in your position about a year ago. Being new to the whole airstream experience and believing that the professional treatment would come along with the experience I learned some hard lessons even though at my age one might think I could have anticipated that salesman and dealership will always be the same regardless the product and how much you pay for an item. You will learn that the dealership will make or break your experience with the endeavor so please for the sake of those who have gone before you believe nothing that comes from their mouths and only half of what you read. You will also think you are the most important person in the world even by Airstream but will soon learn after everyone gets their money you will be forgotten quickly as they move on to the next potential buyer for a sale. Call me a cynic but I will bet many would concur with my sediments if they would be willing, to be honest, and not afraid they would appear to have played the foolish naive purchaser. We try to believe everyone is more honest than not but when money is involved integrity seems to fall way behind in the equation. Hate to be the "Debbie Downer" but rather speak up now so you do not have to look back as I did and ask, why didn't anyone warn me? Many of us baby boomers that are trying to recapture what we recall as a better time from our youth are more than willing to be separated from our hard earned and saved financial resources and the RV/Camper industry knows it. They will also take every bit of it as long as they can because this run will not last forever. Sooner or later the next upcoming generation will find better-made products at a lesser cost and not until then will this industry change. I challenge anyone to argue I am incorrect. Just try thinking about it before you lunge at the opportunity to say I am just a Nay-Seyer. Anyway good luck!

We ordered our 30FB Bunk Flying Cloud in May and were given our production slot and a 9/17 build date at the time. Still on schedule for 9/17.

Welcome and congratulations! I bought a new 16 a year ago so I know your excitement. I love mine. She's been a lot of fun and the perfect size for me and my two dogs or a human friend sometimes. Also it's easier to get in and out of of some of the tight campsites here in the northeast. Hoping to go across the country at some point.

Can you tell me what you ordered for options on yours? I (stupidly?) bought one right off the lot, not knowing about the ordering option. I'd love to know what you thought was important to add on.
