How to turn on/off Atwood Heater
We are new to Airstream. Can't quite figure out how the heater works in our 19ft Flying Cloud. Can someone help? Thank you.

Heater
If we're talking the furnace to warm the interior, the thermostat controls that. Be sure the mode slide switch is set to HEAT and the temperature is set right.
If you mean the hot water heater, there should be a rocker switch somewhere to turn it on..

Furnace vs. Heat Pump
Set the Mode to "Furnace"
Give it a few seconds to think about it and then the furnace will kick in as long as your batteries are charged (or you are plugged in to shore power) and your propane tanks are open.
On shore power, you may also have a "Heat Pump" option among the modes on your thermostat.
The heat pump (if so equipped) will not work on battery power alone. It is a 120 VAC device.
The furnace is designed for boondocking and works on propane and 12 VDC.

I am assuming you mean the furnace. Once you (1) have the thermostat turned on (there's a sliding switch on the bottom of the wall thermostat), (2) you'll need to set it to "furnace" (or it may say "heat"), and (3) have the thermostat set at a temp low enough so that the furnace will come on ... there will be a bit of a delay and the furnace should come on. (This assumes your propane is turned on.) First you will hear the blower start, then you'll hear a click-click-click of the ignition...then you should hear the propane furnace light, and you'll have heat coming out of the furnace vent. If you have not used the furnace in some time it will have that odd furnace smell until it "burns off" the dust, etc.

Most likely you have the digital CCC II thermostat which does not have the sliding switches.
Products - Dometic
Here's a link. You can find the manual on this page, if you didn't get one with the trailer. It really isn't too hard to operate, but can be a little confusing. Push any button to wake up the tstat. Push mode until you get to furnace. Turn up the temp with the arrow keys.

Ah ... I stand corrected ... a newer way to turn the thermostat on! Thanks, Dave.

I'm sorry, didn't the people you bought it from give you a walk through?

I know from experience that after about ten minutes, the customer's eyes kind of glaze over, and all they hear after that is "blah, blah".
To operate the furnace using the ccc2,
Push the power button until the display lights, then push the mode button until "furn" is displayed. Select the temperature using the up and down arrows to the right of the display.
