how to remove bulletin board w/out damage?

It's the dry erase magnetic board above the coathooks in new 16's (and perhaps others). Perfect place for wall art; we'd love to put something else there.

Any ideas?

We had one in our 20' Safari SE and it was very useful for reminders and notes. May be difficult to remove without leaving marks but try giving Airstream Service at Jackson Center a call to see how it's mounted. I would guess some peal and stick tape holds it on, to speed assembly.

The board in our 2011 was applied using an adhesive tape of some sort. I know because the top of it kept coming undone.

Bestine is available at Amazon and will dissolve that tape's adhesive.
Amazon.com: Bestine Solvent and Thinner, 1-Quart: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

I don't think yours is attached with anything other than one of the exotic tapes used for this kind of application.

Good luck!

We have one of those magnetic boards right by the door in our 2012 23FB. It is held to the wall with two-sided foam tape. It is easily removable without any wall damage by using old time lighter fluid (naphtha). Just let it run behind the board on the tape. it will dissolve the glue.

Thanks for the great replies. Already have some lighter fluid on hand, will test it out. That spot in the 16 is such a great location for a decoration of some sort.

We had one in our 22Bambi Sport
It was just on with an adhesive and we removed it, used some Goo Gone and now have a vintage photo hanging there

Post results people! (SKOOTER)When you say you will go out and try it and don't report back I must assume your whole wall melted and you died in the experiment.

Take waxed covered dental floss and run it (use a sawing motion) between the wall and bulletin board. This will break the contact and then you can use WD40 to clean what is left on the wall.

I hear ya. For now we just stuck some adhesive magnets on the back of a document holder and popped it up. Would look better in a proper frame though.

Dental floss...now that's a good idea too. Will see what I can get done this weekend. Supposed to hit near 60 today so I'd like to wash the exterior first and foremost.

Floss is boss! Factory used enough carpet tape to hang an anvil. Spent a good half hour and wore out a couple credit cards scraping, then a terrycloth rag soaked with Oops! I found at Ace Hardware. Some good stuff. Left zero trace on the wall.

I'm the hero for hanging the new decor wifey had picked up at the beach last fall.

I don't know about OOP's but when I saw what the Mrs. was spending on Goof Off I died a little. About the best thing in the world for that is the cheapest charcoal lighter fluid you can find. Then rub it off with soapy water to get rid of the smell if it bothers you, but the lighter fluid will take off about any tape goop or adhesive I have found at 1/100th the cost.

A blow dryer would have worked. Just heat it up. It would have pulled off with no marks.
