We have a 2017 Sport. The two burner stove has a push button spark ignition that has never worked. No big deal to simpley use a match.
I was at the Airstream dealer on Friday and asked them if they might have a simple fix. They seemed stumped by the problem. Has anyone on the forum had a similar problem and fix?

EVERYONE! Yep. It's so common... we keep a "sparky" BBQ lighter in the spice rack.

Funny thing is... after the burner is lit once... the piezo will work on additional burners.... or on the original burner if attempted within a few minutes. It will eventually frustrate you unless you learn to ignore this and resign yourself to a BBQ lighter.

Look closely at the clearance between the electrode and where the spark jumps to. It should be the same on all burners, and produce a bright, hot-looking fat spark. If the spark is long and skinny it will not work reliably.

And yes, keep a long-nose BBQ lighter hand--its good for other things too...

Been there. Done that. Beautiful spark. Propane flows. The only thing that occurs reliably is.... NO FIRE!

Avoid anger management. Keep a BBQ lighter handy.

This might sound crazy but it works for me. I just gently blow on the burner when I'm pressing the spark button. It lights every time. Same thing works in the oven.

I think a gentle blow gets the gas to the sparker.

If you have a long rainy day and you've watched all the DVD's, fiddling with the spark electrode is a good way to spend a bunch of time. It's not as easy as you might think. You *can* break them. There are some spark paths that work better than others. The trick is to be patient (or careful or lucky) enough to find the magic point before the thing breaks.

Why?

To much gas and not enough air = you don't get ignition. To much air and not enough gas, also no ignition. To little or to much flow can also be a problem. With some burner designs, just about anywhere works. With others it's a real pain.

We just purchased the 2018 Bambi 16 ft and we have the same issue with the stove starter .. it just doesn't work well and we started using a lighter ..
