FC 19C Bathroom door

Good morning fellow addicts,

The FC 19C is the largest trailer my TV will accommodate. I can't get to the dealer for a bit and had a question about the bathroom door. Does it open enough for easy access to the bath? Has anyone done any mods to help? Not sold on the TB bifold door solution.

Thanks

We have had a 19' since buying it new in 2002 and have never had any problem with accessing the shower/toilet through the door. Those who wear XXXL sizes might. Best is to check out an actual 19-footer at a dealer to see if you have a problem.

Some have complained about the lack of space using the toilet with the door closed.

Before I bought a 19' because "it's the biggest I can tow" I'd consider a larger tow vehicle and get the trailer you really want.
I realize everything is a compromise, but squeezing into a tiny shower, having to sit at the dinette, and sleeping up against the wall, as well as having a single axle is too much compromise for me.

Thanks Tim,

I had a thought that if you closed the shades you could use the room divider for privacy and leave the door open a bit if needed. I hope to get by a dealer sooner than later and check my fit. Thanks

Thanks Mollysdad,

My TV is my TV and that's not going to change. So, if it's an Airstream, it's either a wet bath, the big bath in the 22fb, or this smaller bath but with the nicer FC finishes. Like Tim suggested, I'm going to have to get to the dealer and check my fit.

Thanks again for the feedback.

The corner shower in the 19' (and other models) is surprisingly generous.

I concur. I keep the bathroom door open, and close the accordion divider. I've bought a Delta Wall Mount so I have the shower head directly over head. I just bought another to a lower position for a modified bidet.

Made it to the dealer on Saturday. Had been focused on the basecamp or sport 16 - lighter and easier to tow. The 22FB and the FC 19C were in the running but are closer to my max TV capability.

The wet bath is just tooooo small for a guy my size. If I was 5'8" and 140 lbs, maybe - but I'm 6' and way more than 200. So the BC and the Sport 16 are out.

The FC 19C is out. That bathroom door simply won't work for a guy my size. The Tommy Bahama 19C is workable, but too expensive, too heavy, and the interior was not for me.

So, it looks like the 22FB.

Here is a look at the Tommy Bahama door set up - it is functional, although the handles are a little suspect.

We had a 22 and really liked that bathroom. Especially the operable window.

It is good that you saw the real deal...but FYI am just fine in our shower and toilet. We have a 2014 International 19' and I am 6'3" and about 215#.

Who wants to cook (like getting hit in the fanny by the bath-door while in the 20' FC kitchen) or sleep (like the Tommy Bahama bed) next to the pooper and it's smells?

The 22' Sport with the galley and bed at the other end is the ideal setup for us.
