I have a nice thick foam pad. I put a twin mattress pad and two twin sheets, one each way. I add a couple big safety pins to the back side to keep in place and use a down comforter. In morning I just roll up and put on bed in back, very easy.

Same here. I keep a few sleeping bags in the bottom of the closet, in that awkward space that few other things fit in.

We use a rectangular sleeping bag with a flannel interior and shell. They are becoming difficult to find but are still available, and are inexpensive. The cotton fabric is more comfortable and less prone to slip off the cushions. The shape is more comfortable than the mummy bags designed for tents and extreme cold.

Actually, we find that a two-drawer storage unit is perfect - one drawer for clothes and the other for shoes (if you're a women's size 6, you can get 4 pairs in one drawer! )

Nice, but unfortunately all that space in the bottom is lost to the water heater in my 2015. All I am left with, from the about waist-height down, is a space about 12" wide by 12" deep.
