David Winick 75th Anniversary Bambi - New Book

David Winicks new book, "Airstream Custom Interiors" is coming out soon (looks like September). It apparently features many of David's custom trailers, and of course the 75th. We're anxious to see a copy of the book, especially since it features 6 photos I took of our 75th, inlcuding one on the back cover!

If you "act now" you can get one of the numbered 'special edition' first-200 that include an aluminum badge/plate... as unofficial president emeritus of the David Winnick fan club it took me all of two seconds to hit the "buy now" button!! go to his site: finest vintage and custom Airstream trailers

It looks like the number of Aluminum badges and signed copies has increased to 500. I purchased mine yesterday.

Carol,

The book hasn't been released yet for purchase, but hopefully it is very Winick-esque.

Is the badge to be left in the book or displayed separately do you think?

Bet it is fixed to the inner cover. The 500 are also autographed and numbered.

Hi everyone.
First off, thanks for the kind words and support. I really appreciate it. All of you.
I wanted to clarify some questions.
The signed and badged edition was always 500 copies.
The badge is aluminum [go figure] and is laser engraved with the numbered sequence. Also has a little saying on it. It's permanently affixed to the inside cover.
I also stamped the company logo on the title page by hand and signed over it.
I think it's pretty nice but you'll be the judges.
For those on a budget and don't want a signed copy, it will be available on Amazon at the end of the month.
Again, thanks everybody
David

Me too!

I missed this thread the first time around, I just ordered mine, the website says a large shipment was sent on 9-14-10.

Can't wait, timing is perfect.

Looks like a great book, BUT I think the Author and Publisher should be ashamed that this book about an iconic American brand and American craftsmanship, is outsourced and not manufactured in the USA. Funny how that isn't mentioned in any of the descriptions.

Sorry if I offend anyone, just thought it was worth mentioning. Again, it does look like a great book, but I won't be buying one.

Thanks,
Eric

I got my book today!! I have never seen such a beauty front and back cover on a book. It is gorgeous and the numbered aluminum badge with inscription is very cool. The images are wonderful and I love having them bound on fine paper. I have only had a quick sneak peek, as I sit to read the book and walk the custom interiors I know I will be transcended. Thanks David! I am so tickled to have my very own personalized autographed copy of the book.
