creating a space on the window side of the bed

We just purchased a 22 ft 2013 sport. We are picking it up tomorrow. I volunteered to sleep next to the window in the front and my husband will sleep on the side closest to the dining area. My concern is that he has a small night table for a book, a cup of coffee, a clock, etc and there is no apparent place on my side to put anything I am wondering how someone may have made a space on the window side to put a coffee cup or book. Id love your suggestions!

I felt your same pain! I just wanted somewhere to put my coffee cup and phone where I could reach it in the morning. I came across wine racks in my parent's storage room that had a flip down shelf at the top. My husband cut off the portion of the wine rack that fell below the shelf, tossed it then attached the shelf to the wall at each end of the bed. It flips up out of the way when we need to close the curtain. I've seen real flip up shelves that would do the same job probably on Ikea's site or Amazon. I'm a big fan of repurposing so this worked great for me!

Love the retro look of that, Paddledipper.

We have a 19' Bambi trailer and have the same issue with no place to store glasses, books, flashlights, etc. when in bed. I took curtains that have the large hole at the top for hanging through curtain rods. I cut them down and sewed material in front to make pockets that will hold glasses, books, pens, but not coffee cups Then I took a large S hook and hung these from the curtains in the camper ( 2 hooks per). I made 2 of these to place on both sides of our bed for each of us. They are handy and won't be in our way when we get in and out of bed. Enjoy! Michelle
