It's "no silicone sealant", not "no silicone". Acecetal silicone such as used in silicone caulk contains an acid that is corrosive to aluminum. Silicone lubricant does not.

Can't get the front window open on 2016 Bambi

Silicone caulk is a no no if you are attempting to use it as a sealing method. It has no adverse effects to the aluminum under my use. My method for applying it is to spray it on a paper towel and then wipe the gasket with the towel. You use a lot less and you don't have to worry about overspray or drips.

It states in my Airstream manual to use 100% (spray) for the window seals. I'll keep using it and will count on Jack's experience for less sticking over time.

The Aerospace 303 towelettes from Amazon mentioned earlier worked great, and storage of the container is easy in my FC20 [small, light and non-liquid].

Thanks to Foiled Again for the "Pool Noodles Everywhere" headline -- sure got my attention and is a great idea. Multi-purpose too . . .
