Bambi- dinette or sofa option?

Does anyone own the 19' Bambi Safari with the front sofa option instead of the dinette? Your thoughts on this please? Thanks.

I own a very similar Argosy Minuet 6.0 Metre with the front lounge rather than the dinette. This is one of those areas where there seems to be very strong feelings for one arrangement or the other -- I fall into the group that wouldn't consider a coach with a dinette, and my reasons are as follows:
  • The dinette reduces the feeling of spaciousness that one gains with the front lounge arrangment.
  • The dinette doesn't serve well for my mode of travel -- I don't care to sit at a dinette nor do most of my friends who may be visitors in my coach.
  • The credenza table, or a small folding table provides far more flexibility than the built-in dinette table did in any of the earlier Brand X coaches that I owned.

I suspect to a degree, the travel mode makes a difference in the selection. In my case, I eat very few if any meals in my coach on the typical trip (dining out is a big part of the fun of traveling for me); but as one who frequently caravans or attends rallys, I often have guests visit and find the lounge floorplan to be more workable for my circumstances.

Good luck with your research!

Kevin

Kevin,

Thanks for your thorough replies about Bambi TTs. My wife and I share your same preferences for the sofa lounge floorplan. We also never cook big meals in the camper and enjoy trying local restaurants along the road. Just give us a microwave and we're all set for quickie meals!
