We had a T@B before we started looking at the Basecamp and 16' Sport last May.
Decided on the Sport. Have enjoyed it ever since.
1. Easy to tow.
2. Bed is always made.
3. Well built inside and out.
4. Plenty of room for two.
5. Plenty of storage space.
6. Always someone dropping by to take a look at her.

a quick (airforums only) search in the bar at the top of the page...I just typed comparison 19,22,22

https://www.google.com/search?biw=13....0.nNNVIY5Kw9M

or from a search for a friend yesterday, can't remember what I typed.

https://www.google.com/search?q=23&s...com&gws_rd=ssl

Plenty of reading here...

For the record we love our 20, but not without some cons....climb over bed being the biggie. Kitchen is killer tho.

happy trails

Bob

Jassgrass - you don't tell us much about your circumstances. If we knew more about your family size and what type of camping you had in mind it would make it easier to comment.

That said, my wife and I purchased a 2018 FC19 and couldn't be more thrilled. We looked at the BC but felt like we needed a more permanent, comfortable bed and didn't like the idea of the wet bath. Our kids are grown up and gone so it is just the two of us and our black lab. Our trips are never more than 2-4 days in duration and we prefer to spend as much time outdoors as is practical. Our Bambi tows beautifully, is easy to park, a snap to set up and tear down and we love it dearly.

Good stuff not so good stuff

I'm super excited about making the change, are there any issues out there on the 2018's that anyone is aware of ?

My Basecamp has been a challenge . I want to be proactive so Smokey joe and I are ready to hit the road, east coast bound the end of March.... (Blue Heeler travel buddy)
Thanks for all the sharing so far The forum is a terrific resource.

2015 AS Bambi 16' love it

Our little family has 3 years of adventuring in our 16'. We love it. We thought about sizing up this winter, but decided to stay put with the 16'. We've decided that the tow-ability and nimbleness is wonderful thing. We look at ours as the basecamp for other adventures. We like being outdoors and aren't looking to get lavish. a little more space would be nice, but we really dig this little guy. We cook and eat outdoors mostly, even when its cold. We keep the dinette set as a bed/lounge for the kids (5&10) most of the time. We've got a Big Agnes dinning tent with a waterproof cover, so the little dinky/silly awning is fine as well. We've got 15k of adventures to lots of states and provinces. more to come!

We bought a 2015 FC20 slightly used and have pulled it all over the country and into Canada too. We love it! It pulls easy, it’s very durable, and it’s super comfy. We have done numerous short trips, two 6-week trips, and we lived in it for 2 solid months. So far the only feature I wish we had is ducted A/C, which I think is now standard on most newer models.

We enjoy our FB22’ Sport. Plenty of room for two adults, adequate water and sanitary for boondocking 5+ days. I did upgrade the battery to 100 amp battleborn LiIon and the charge unit to PD 55 amp LI unit, and added rock guards to the front panels. Easy towing and very maneuverable in tight camping sites. Also added 100w solar panel, backup lights and camera.

we have a 2016 19 foot international and absolutely love it. It is easy to tow but I will admit that we upgraded from a tacoma to an F150 and now is a joy to tow. We like the larger bath over the 16 but agree that the bed is not our favorite and we alternate who gets the curved side. It is perfect for my husband and I, who do a ton of hiking. We can boondock for up to 3 days and then water becomes an issue. My hubby still likes to take a slightly long shower. Oh well. So water capacity can be an issue. Lily (her given name) has had only minor issues but we have been able to resolved them all ourselves (leak under sink and gasket on shower vent on roof). Its our first trailer and we feel it's a great fit!

We had our 22FB for 2 years. Started out just camping on the weekends but eventually ended up living in it full time for a year until we upgraded to a 27FB November 1st to full time in. Only regret with the 22FB was not putting segment protection on the front when we had it because we got “dinged” on the trade in for some to cover up the dings on the front. Pulled the 22FB with our Honda Ridgeline for 20K.

We purchased a 2007 19' Bambi that year and have been to Moab, Arches, Bullfrog, Page, North Rim of Grand Canyon, Bryce, Capital Reef, Telluride, Durango, Yellowstone, Glacier, Aspen and so many others. We love our Bambi, although I did many upgrades to personalize it and make it more functional, including a Dexter Lift Kit, 16" wheels with Michelin LRE tires, Timken bearings, Wilson cell booster, Sirius sat radio, back-up lights, two 6-volt LifeLine batteries, PD 4655 charger/converter, Oxygenics shower head, LED lights, IMTRA reading lights, switched out the one-step to a two-step Lippert, Dinosaur furnace circuit board and probably many other things I can't think of right now.

Then we purchased a 23FB which we love. However, we cannot quite let go of the Bambi since we like it so much! So we are a two-Airstream family at the moment, though I do toy with the idea of selling the Bambi every so often, like when I have to store it in the fall. But I am not sure DW will let me.

The Bambi has a lot of features in a great and towable package. I think it is a one or two person trailer. I would not recommend the bed for two larger people. At 48"x60" it is cozy.

Ya'll each inspire !

I traded my Basecamp and purchased my Bambi today, really my dealership (Foley RV Center))is just awesome. I will take delivery after the additions are all complete. To say I am excited is an understatement.

I added solar , awnings all the way around (Pacific Blue), Electric tongue jack , fantastic roof vent and the rock guards...

I admit, I did admire the idea of the lift kit and just might look into that later Thank each of you for your shares
jaz

Merry Christmas

Great folks at Foley RV, in Gulfport, Mississippi.

We bought a 19 but did not like the color of the seat cushions. We worked out a deal with Foley to swap some covers they had (from another purchaser who wanted cushions on black).

They even spent a good long while working the new covers around our cushions.

Nice people, and they sure seem to know their Airstreams.

Picked up Sport 22FB this weekend and spent a maiden night. Perfect for the two of us. I opted for the narrower 22 as I have a challenging spot to park at home. The 16 would have worked, but not a wet bath fan. The "climb-over bed is not ideal, but it is roomy enough for my 6'3" frame on the curved side. Kitchen is great, bathroom roomy, and storage is fantastic. Pulling with 2015 4runner and WDH. Works hard on steep grades, but so far so good. Very easy to tow.

We owned our 2015 22FB for 2 years and lived in it part time/full time for 14 months. We towed ours to 12 states (10 state capitols) with a Honda Ridgeline. It is perfect camper for 2 adults who spend a majority of their time outside.

Great point Johnnyooo. Traveling light has become our obsession. We have a 2018 22FB and think AS got most if not all the kinks worked out from prior years like GYE v GYM tires, the round sink now a double without fold down faucet and the killer LPG tank cover made of aluminum. Tambour doors? They missed that one.

We really wanted a dual axle FC but our tow vehicle is 2013 and in great shape but a big V6. So tow rate was limited to the 22FB Sport. We got it in Oct 2017 and have boondocked and used our Renogy 100w portable solar on a winter camping. Temps were above freezing so not a big issue. Upgraded battery to AGM type.

When we buy a new TV in a few years it will be a V8. Then we might move to a FC. But for now, the Sport 22FB is a great home on wheels.
