22FB Sport Interior Upgrades

My goal for this addition was to add a shelf that we could store bedding, linens and other lightweight items. Simple to build.

I've been busy making several upgrades to the interior of my 22FB. Also added a "Lagun" table mount, push button door locks on the some of the cabinets, new faucet for the sink after removal of the folddown spout (not shown in photo fold down spout has been capped off) and problematic control that turns the water on when the sink lid is shown and a counter extension.

i used a block of wood so that the vertical part did NOT touch the side seats

then secured the AS panel so that it would not flex
also better secure the cross panel by the curb side wall

its has been working very well for 16 months now

our 2017 as 22fb has a double sink. its too bad you have a small round one
if we bough a new As, we would not get one with a round or single sink

no double sink is deal killer

try to update your sink to a dual sink version like the 2017 +

We previously had a 22 with the single sink.

That layout gives a lot of counter space that you lose with the double sink.

I don't know that one or the other is better, they are just different.

I liked having the counter space for prep and food storage.

I like the new faucet.

You may want to consider removing the glass hinge sink cover.

Why?

Sometimes there will be drippage that drains out when you are underway. If the cover was off then it would drip into the sink. You maybe could have made a wooden cutting board cover -- that would look really good.

The sink in the 2016 was the last year they did the single as shown. AS changed it to the double in your model year. The sink I have was a royal pain in that we had a couple of incidents where the lid accidently turned on the hot water "with the plug in". Water silently flooded the coach and nearly burned my hand getting turned off. I like the double but it takes up so much counter space. With the mods I made this works well. I still have plans of removing the glass top and taking it to a glass shop to have either a hole cut in it for the faucet or more than likely a slot cut out of the side. Thanks for your reply.

I agree although I like the look of the cover. As soon as I can figure out how to take off the plastic bolts that hold the cover in place I'm going to take it to a glass shop and have them either cut a small "faucet drip hole" or a curved slot out of the side of the cover. I've seen other tops cut like that. Not shown in the photo and actually after the fact I managed to get a screw on plug to cover the outlet of the old faucet. I decied to let all the old controls stay in the sink (now that I've camoflauged them) for the "next owner of the trailer". I've saved all the parts I've removed. The trailer will go on to the next owner when I'm no able to use it. But....it will "take until death do us part"! "Milley" is a part of the family! Thanks for your reply.

Just noticed this thread about replacing this sink in an interstate.
Thought it was worth posting for anyone following this thread.
