Most digital thermostats require 3+ wires. You may find the junky two wire domestic is likely a simple on-off switch. It requires no additional wires to run the brain.
That said, the digital may not work in your case.

The wiring diagram that came with the thermostat should tell you which terminals to use.
The thermostat cannot get power from the two blue wires coming from the furnace, so you have to use a thermostat with its own power supply (battery).
Look at page 3> https://customer.honeywell.com/resou...69-1968EFS.pdf
If you have the thermostat type TH1110D with the three terminals marked "C R W", use R and W.
Which wire goes to the terminal does not matter.

I have an older version Honeywell digital thermostat in my Safari. It really makes the trailer more comfortable. The temperature variance is reduced to ~1 or 2 degrees.
You will be really glad you made this change.
ps:
The furnace's instruction says thermostat wire position does not matter. Position is not important because the thermostat is just acting as a switch, completing a circuit between the two wires.
