19' International Discontinued

Hello all,

Was at my local Airstream dealer yesterday with the wife and we were going through the steps to order a new 19' International Signature Series.

Got a message this morning from the salesman stating that Airstream is no longer taking new orders for 19' Internationals (Serenity or Signature). Go forward, the only 19' model being produced would be the Flying Cloud.

Has anyone else heard this or can verify??

Much appreciated.....

Hi,
We're new to the forum as of today, and are interested in an International 19 as well, though we're likely looking at used. If you go to the Airstream website, they do indeed no longer show the 19 for the 2018 model year International
There seem to be a few new 2017 International 19s still floating around out there in dealer inventories, so if you want new, you may want to look pretty quickly? I'll leave it to the pros here to weigh in further. We really do love the look of the International interiors... on the hunt, best of luck!

They do make a 19C in the Tommy Bahama line.

Hi

It seems that they are moving certain versions over to the "custom" side of things. That may or may not be a smart move on their part. Time will tell .....

Gee - too bad to hear that it's dead.

Hey Bob - what are you referring to below with regards to "custom"??

Hi

The Tommy Bahama versions are limited run models that are customized to match some sort of theme. In a year or two, they will switch to some other theme and customize around that.

Thank so much Bob.

Checked out the 19' Tommy model at the dealer. There's a lot to like and some great "extras", but was a little bit too flowery even for my wife.

He hunt continues....

Some dealers increased their purchase of the 2017 International 19' for this reason, i know that Adventures Northwest did so. The ones we saw on the lot had almost all of the "upgrades" added in, full awning packages, etc. YMMV, but if you want to buy an International 19 you may want to check their inventory and buy a 2017 it seems. You are likely constrained to what a dealer ordered though, I seem to recall them implying that more than just the International 19 was being discontinued but since we weren't the market ($$) for anything above a Flying Cloud (and ended up with a Sport) I didn't store that in memory.

Hi

It's not clear how much longer the association with TB will continue. It could be for another couple of years. If past history is any indication (it's AS ... who knows ...) they will then pair up with somebody else. I'm not sure I'd wait for that to happen if you are shopping now.

19 International Serenity

I purchased a new 2017 19 ft International Serenity in March. It had the awning package and solar. I had the dealer change out the oven for a microwave. I am happy with this choice. Love the light interior.

All the Internationals are being phased out. They're starting to build Globetrotters now.

Hi

So what's a Globetrotter have that an International did not have? Put another way - is it just a name change?

Not sure. There weren't any on the final line I could look at when I was there. They did say I was getting one of the last of the Internationals.

When will they start to release the Globetrotters? Hoping to see some significant changes.
Thanks

19' International Discontinued

Well this is an interesting development. I'll be at the factory soon so I'll let y'all know if I find anything out. What I do know is that when they discontinued the 15' escape, I sold mine for more than I bought it for. Course discontinued size is a different thing than a discontinued decor. But still....

Hi

One of the ways for them to keep the rights to their various trademark names for trailers is to cycle through them. They have a good reason to bring back the old names on "new" trailers. I'd also admit (as a buyer) that the differences between some of the models *were* getting to be a bit hard to see ....
