I saw this one and at first, it looked like maybe, but as I looked further, there will be without question structural damage and although you can bend it, who knows until you get into it if the ribs are cracked. If that's the case, it's going to be fairly costly. Add to the fact that the sealing is most likely compromised, who knows if you'll ever be able to get it sealed without doing major work to it.

Now if the unit sold for say $5000 or a bit more, it might be a worthy project, but at the current price of $13k, I could easily see a proper fix costing $10k, which combined with the current auction price, is the approximate price of a used one from 2004 and soon to be 2005 as the units continue to depreciate. Keep in mind that these used units I'm talking about will still have their proper caulking and undisturbed internals, compared to this one on eBay, which could have never ending sqeeks, rattles and fit and finish issues unless properly repaired using a qualified service center with genuine parts.

My vote, at the current price, I'd walk, but that's just me.

I'd have to agree. Even parting the unit out will most likely not net the auction price either.....

Run away!

Even if you buy it cheap & pay to fix it up...it only has a salvage title, so you'll never get your money out.

As the others have said, this is not an easy repair, and most of the damage is hidden and will require a lot of disassembly just to determine what all it needs. IMHO I'd wish whoever buys it a lot of luck and move on.

Thumbs down Run away!!!

A bargain is a bargain only if it remains a bargain after you get it home.

There’s a reason this AS was salvaged by the insurance company. It’s wrecked!

I’d stay far away unless you SEE it in person first, can do the repairs yourself and expect to end up with as much $$$ into it as you could have found a nice undamaged one for.
Meaning….you just like projects and have $$$ to toss down aluminum holes.

DEALING with Ebay is ALWAYS tricky. They have the seller feedback part for a reason! 85.1% is NOT a good seller rating. Especially when it comes from comments such as:

“Not to be trusted. Misrepresents goods, people like this should not be on ebay.” and “DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS MAN! IT WILL COST YOU THOUSANDS”.

Hmmmm……Even previous Ebay buyers tried to warn you!

I certainly agree with you guys on this one. If I could "Buy-It-Now" for maybe 2 or 3 grand, at least you know the parts would be worth that. This thing is currently over 13 grand and it has not met the reserve! Like safari64 stated the guy's feedback is pretty low especially when your dealing with high priced merchandise.

What I find really funny is that he is calling it an "EZ FIX". The ripples go all the way down the side. I feel very sorry for the people bidding. You couldn't get you money back even on parting it out!

This was one of his feedbacks....e-z fix my a%*. It's the furthest thing from an "EZ fix".

I am amazed

It never ceases to amaze me at the major expenes some take on...unknowingly.

Recent Ebay item of an 81 Excella 22 footer. Looked O.K. but had 5 dented panels...three on top rear. Thats over 5000 bucks in repairs for the dents only. Whatever else is on top of that. There went the great deal.
A sad one sits in our own Classifieds now.... 1966 Caravel

Its a GREAT item at a threatening end price....its up to the buyer

Easy fix? If the insurance company "totaled" it then there is structural damage. it would have to be significant for a nearly new AS to be totaled.
Walk away quickly.
