I've always though that if Yamaha or Honda made a 4000 watt unit that was still around 52 db. and weighed 125 lbs. they would make quite a hit. I guess that is wishful thinking. Until then I will continue to push my Yamaha 3000 boost up aluminum ramps and live with it.

Okay, here's a simple question. I usually camp with hookups, but have learned due to a flat tire (sweating like a horse and getting covered with black rubber dust) to ALWAYS carry enough fresh water for an emergency shower.

I never drink "fresh water" that's been in the tank. When I travel I cook with and drink bottled water. I drink tap water at home and at my office, but I'm just a little concerned about growing cooties in the fresh water tank, and I'd rather not risk Montezuma's revenge while traveling, so I never assume that a strange campground's water system is pristine.

I do the Clorox thing on the fresh tank periodically, but still... Am I being paranoid? How many of you drink water you've stored in your fresh water tank.

Each spring, after purging the tank and rinsing it thouroughly by filling and pumping it and the fresh water lines out once again, I never worry. So far no problems. You can purchase an inline charcoal filter that attaches to your water hose at Walmart or most camping supply stores. Prior to your inital hook up to the shore water, be certain to run water through it to clean out any charcoal residuals left during manufacture. I always carry a little water in my fresh water tank while on the road for toilet use etc.

We do the tank & lines sanitize and purge in the Spring. After that, we use the General Ecology shore filter when filling the tank and their Seagull IV filter/faucet for drinking and cooking. <http://www.generalecology.com/index.htm>

Lots of info on the General Ecology site as to the tested effectiveness of their products. We're very happy with the water and use the system at home as well. We change the filters once a year.
