Dan and Gen.

As long as the container is above the level of the water inlet, it should be fine.

I can't remember where, but I think theres a company that makes a gigantic water/bladder thing that goes on top of a car that you fill with water and somehow transfer to the AS. I think I saw here on the forums.

Another thing that's probably obvious is to find a space that would be within the lenghth of your fresh water hose(s). I think I carry around 150', and it has come in handy.

Another challenge that we have yet to encounter is some of the really nice "rustic" campgrounds only have water from a manual pump, further necessitating the services of a chiropractor...

Here is a link to the 45 gallon bag from camping world:

Contact someone that 'bottles' wine. They have bags that they use in the boxes of wine. I have a friend that gave me some huge bag but it was bigger than my needs.

Over Memorial Day weekend we were at a Minnesota State Park campground that had faucets with no threaded hose fitting. The only option is to fill a jug and pour it into the trailer.

Ah yes, the 'water thief'. I cannot remember the number of times my dad would have be holding that darn thing on a faucet when we were Airstreaming around the country. I think some of them actually come with a clamp so you can temporarily attach it.

If you get a Safari. Get the Solar Package if available and upgrade the Propane tanks. I have the solar packaage for my Classic which get you larger batteries and solar panel for charging. They will maintain and charge a battery just not very fast. I also bought a Honda EU200i This will run the Convection Microwave with the eco throttle off.
I have the standard tanks and found out after I bought the trailer I could have had larger.During my last camping trip, I ran low on fresh water first. I could have made it last longer if I took Navy showers. The trip lasted four days.

Aim for the fill port

I found if you take a bread sack and a rubber band you can channel the water from one of these pumps into the 5 gallon jug.

I followed rseagle's suggestion for filling the fresh water tank in the AS.... works like a charm.... I have a small but sturdy folding table that I put the jug on. It's amazing how quickly water can siphon out of a container with a sufficiently large diamater hose. I use a clear hose so that I can watch the progress. Easy and cheap... I love it!

Operating without batteries is a complete different situation and in that case the tow vehicle charging system can direct all its power to the hitch.

Before I learned the secret of using the master disconnect switch when storing the trailer I allowed the battery on my Safari to run down. Bottom line connecting to the tow vehicle provided little solace since the small amount of power available could only make the jack groan. I ended up pulling the battery out and taking it home for a quick recharge.

Then if you found yourself in this situation, couldn't you turn off the "master switch" and run the jack from your TV no problem?

Wow, thanx for all the valuable info, Maurice(?). The Honda 2000 gen sounds like something to look in to because we will be using our trailer 'dry' a lot of the time. I'm assuming 'dry' means where there are no hookups???

Lots of good ideas! I have the Honda 3500 invertor model, not sure of the the exact model. It will run the AC if we are careful with rest of the load. I use a group 27 battery and charge as needed, both from the univolt and I carry a automatic battery charger. As to water, I have three 15 gallon plastic drums, (mine came from a dairy farm, they contained food grade plumbing cleaner used to clean the milk plumbing) and I have a 12 volt water pump from Tractor Supply that has garden hose fittings. I wired the pump to a seven way plug, and simply plug the pump into the TV and leave the drums of water in the bed. Works great , and LOTS of water.

Are you sure your Honda isn't a 3000 watt inverter model?
