Question creak/squeak in floor

I am looking to purchase a 2005 Safari 28 with the slide out. It is in good shape overall but I recall from research on these fourms that some came with a quirk/creak in the floor. This is near the rear of the hallway under and just forward of the privacy curtain. It is covered with wood or vinyl and not carpet so I am reluctant to get under the covering on something I don't own. Is this creak normal for Airstream floors or should I be concerned with dry rot underneath. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I have that same squeak in my 28 SO too. It's been there since day 1 when I purchased it new. 3 and a half years later it hasn't gotten any better or worse so I've just lived with it.

common issue, not confined to slide models...

scan any of the Q threads and this issue is a recurrent annoyance mentioned across the models (except 16s)

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f44/...oor-48941.html

but this issue is buried in LOTS of threads and subfloors.

cheers

thanks, I guess it is just one of the Airstream quirks. I am still learning coming from three cabover campers and one 30 foot travel trailer.

I opted for no carpet and all-linoleum floor when I ordered my 2006 Safari. It takes some observation but I know where the seam between plywood sheets is located. Yes, there is a bit of creak at odd times. I agree that it stays stable and I'm not inconvenienced. A creaky day airstreaming beats a medium day AirForums'ing...

Hi jmtandom,
My 2000 Safari has the squeek also, just forward of the bathroom/privacy curtain.

Welcome to the forums!

I had the same problem there was a couple of screws on the inside behind the furnace cover

that needed to be tightened down on the floor took care of the problem
