that's to safari62 and m'blue and o'62 for getting the the pie rolling.
because MUCH can be accomplished with pie, besides filling the pie hole...
-world peace begins with a piece of pie...
-friendships are made with a wedge of pie not a wedgie...
-neighbors bond over a sweet layered triangle not a fence...
-the labors of those growing things come2gether in pie...
-favinoids and phytochemicals are best understood with berries and cherries and chocolate silk...
-crusty feelings are soothed with banana cream, coconut custard or pumpkin pie...
-apples and pears and peaches and strawberries can reach sublime heights when sliced and baked...
and so on...
imagine for example IF everyone taking a trailer tour was offered a slice of pie....
it would seem those giving tours would need LOTS of pie for this,
so imagine IF everyone TAKING the tours brought the hosts a round offering of pie...
the spreading of pie would be self perpetuating and no one would go without pie...
true karma is realized by giving and sharing pies...
i can see npr doing a story on the i.m.p.r. and it would go something like this..
"folks from around the globe have gathered at saratoga springs to celebrate pie...
and it seems they carry them in shiny silver tubes"
it WILL make headlines and is truly news worthy.
i haven't checked the schedule yet, schedules can change...
besides i'm a PIE-rate and not subject to schedules or rules, only TREATies...
yes pie could be had at happy hour, but ANY hour with pie is happy!
again it is wonderful that rich has arrange a nice venue for this celebration and is handling ancillary activities...
but the first i.m.p.r. belongs to the folks sharing the pies... it's a pie-roots effort.
-so who else will bring pie?
-what day/s or night/s shall we have pie?
-shouldn't we embrace cobblers and tarts and other derivates of pie?
-how many fruits and flavors can we enjoy?
so while o'62 has offered up some peach, what ELSE will there be?
i've read that spring water makes a wonderful beverage with pie...
will there me MORE PIES springing up?
a slice of peace to all...

So by reading this I an assuming you are planning to attend. We have had our differences over the past months and 2Air, I want to bury the pie. What pie can I bake you. Name it and it will be yours. Gary chose peach, I am baking a coconut cream for myself, what will be your choice? Three is a much more balanced number anyhow... You chose and we will all sit down at a round pie table...

well in spirit at least.
and i'm a berry pie man....
any fruit is great, but every berry nature has created is made better in a pie...
just no rhubarb or mince meat or okra pie...
and to borrow a pie thought from m'blue,
how's the pizza pie in saratoga?
cheers

I am sorry, I am somewhat slow on the up take... you are or are not coming?
I am not bringing pie, I am baking it fresh on the spot. A berry pie is no problem. So now I have three to make. A berry pie, a peach pie, and a coconut creme. This is going to one hell of a good time. Hope Colin and Steve will join Rich for a slice.

trailer Talk
I just read the tentative schedule and see that the trailer talk radio show will be there Saturday. I talked to Sabrina Artel briefly during the last NH primary in Portsmouth. that's John Edwards "RV" in the background.
We sat inside talking about her show and she said while fiddling with mikes and wires that She would like to ask me a few questions about the primary......lucky for me they could not make the connection and I exited stage left. Being interveiwed in a canned ham could be very disarming and I could have gotten myself in trouble quickly.

I think the pony park does not open until a week after the Jam is over. Otherwise I would accompany you and help "feed the Horses" At least that's what my mother would tell me when i ask where dad was. Oh, he is out feeding the horses.......at my tender young age it took me a few minutes to realize what she really meant.

Yay! We just registered!
I am SO excited to get to attend the Vintage Trailer Jam in Saratoga!!!! What an amazing learning opportunity this is
Six years ago we moved from Greenwich, which is about 25 mins east of this location. My guys are gonna have a blast exploring the area, as kiddo was 9 when we left there. I plan on absorbing all that I can about all things vintage
This is so cool!

Perhaps I should have defined "ponies" a little better.
Harness racing goes on year round at Saratoga.
Trotters race at the Saratoga Raceway, aka the "Racino,"
which is different from the Racetrack (only open for 6 weeks, late July thru Labor Day).
The Racetrack is where the thoroughbreds run.
The Racino is also where Saratoga's casino and nightclub are located.
The Racetrack (which opened only a month after Gettysburg) is absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth a visit (or two or five ).
The Raceway (1941) is just down the road a bit from it's more famous cousin.
So, you up for an evening of feeding the harness horseys?

From reading his post, it seems 2airishuman will not be attending. In that case, could you substitute rhubarb pie for his request for berry pie?

For Mrs. America? Of course, rhubarb, or rhubarb and strawberry? How about rhubarb and blueberry? My wife loves that combination. If 2air is not going to make a commitment, than you will be his fill in. Straight up rhubarb was my grandfathers favorite and very high up on the list for me. I hope others will also step up and put their vintage oven to the task.

all this pie talk has me .....
Although I prefer Pumpkin Praline or Chocolate Cream
Both of which I bake quite well, but neither of which would be very easy in my Argy, in July, with no AC. I'll stick to grillin' and sipping adult beverages.

Our trailer's name is Spirit. So I will get in "Spirit" and make a pie or two. We will shop for fresh ingredients along our way from Richmond to Saratoga Springs.
Are you ready for pie smackdown??
