That's it Rob. It's all about family. It won't be long until the kids are in college or have families of their own. Then we'll have all the time in the world to spend at rallies, but we'll be wishing we were with our kids! Enjoy Zoe' and the kids, even if it means keeping the trailer parked.
Of course you could always come over and help me with my trailer if you need to get away for a while...

I got an email from a potential attendee who was confused about the utility situation at the Jam. It has changed a little since we first started promoting it, so let me tell you what we expect to be able to offer.
Electric: everyone will get 3.5 amp electric (more or less), suitable for keeping batteries charged and running 12v appliances only. Some people will be running off city power, others will be sharing quiet generator power. If you want to run a quiet generator for your own air conditioning you can do that during posted hours. All of the generators will be turned off at night.
Water: fresh water will be available at two filling stations. We hope to have enough hose so that you can refill your tank without moving your trailer, but this is not guaranteed. Unlimited Saratoga Spring water is available for drinking too, if you bring your own jugs.
Gray water: there will be a gray water dump on site. Bring a portable holding tank and empty it as often as you like.
Black water: there will be one pump out on Sunday. The park doesn't have a dump station. On the way out you can also stop by one of the local campgrounds to use their dump station if you want (they will charge a fee).
People who have vintage trailers that lack full plumbing will have shower and bathroom access inside park buildings.
If you have other questions, check our website at www.vintagetrailerjam.com . If that site doesn't answer your question, post it here and we'll try to help.

Getting all the best food, wine, tables, etc...?
I'm also starting to worry about the direction of Airstreaming! Next thing you know, there will be East Coast/Weast Coast wars, stories of how people lost their Airstreams to the "High Life", stories on the front cover of the Blue Beret of the train wrecks many of the "Celebrity's" have become! It starts with just a little event, next thing you know, everything is out of control.
I wish now, I was going to the International in Bozeman! I need to see a tie, black shoes, white shirt and a blue beret to let me know there is still hope for this hobby.
Where's an IBT member when you need them?

That's right, rumor has it that busomy blond with the revolving bed in her Airstream and that guy with the year around tan and six pack abs will make a surprise visit............and go right to the front of the barbeque line!
Gary Busey will be holding a seminar on what NOT to drink before towing your trailer...with photos provided by the LAPD.
But there will be real vintage VIPs like vintage club historian Fred Coldwell and what looks like many long time vintage fans that we all know only from the internet and VAC magazine.
Too bad Rob Baker will not make it to the JAM. Sorry for the peer pressure Rob! Sounds like you have important things to do and there will be many future events for sure.
On second thought, you're a Marine. Isn't there a bunch of Black hawk helicopters just sitting around waiting for a training flight? Do drop in please.....what a star entrance!
One more comment..will the honey wagon now be scheduled during the open house on Saturday?
AH!!!! The tradition continues!

Terrific! I look forward to seeing that sweeet SOTR of yours in VA. Just don't forget to bring some extra tickets for the '64 Tradewind your town is going to be handing over to me. I'll be buying 4 -- but only needing one.

I appreciate all of you donating money to fund the Tradewind that I will win. It's for a good cause so don't feel too bad about it, I promise I'll take great care of her.

We decided to leave the formation of pot luck events to the group, rather than scheduling them. If you download the current schedule, you'll see we have slated Happy Hour talks at 4 pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and in the instructions to participants (coming soon) we'll remind folks that Happy Hour is self-catered. So those will be potlucks essentially. I think Happy Hour would be a good time to break out the pies, too!
We also left dinnertime gaps in the schedule on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, in case anyone wants to organize a dinner potluck or get a group together to go out to one of Saratoga Springs' many great restaurants. We'll have a list of recommended restaurants in the goody bag that you get when you arrive, courtesy of a local Airstreamer.
In response to an earlier question, we scheduled the pump out for Sunday specifically to avoid the Open House. We were all at Salem in 2006 and remember the fiasco of the pump-out during Vintage Open House there!

For me, one of the greatest aspects of any rally is the pot luck. I am very spoiled to be in the WDCU and the WDCU knows how to have pot luck. If anyone is interested, The Yensan's would like to have pot luck. We promise to turn some one on to something they have never had before and it will all be cooked in Anna's sumptuous kitchen.
The "pie" is Gary's (aka safari62). I will talk to him, but I do not se why we could not share some with you Rich.

Different topic
Not that I want to get TOO far away from the dinner table, and those that know what I look like know I never get THAT far away, I was wondering if anyone would care to spend a evening with me and the Saratoga ponies. Junior's college fund needs a shot in the arm, daddy needs a new pair of slippers and my gas tank is empty again!

No... I think that might be Rob. He has the bunk beds....
Keep searching though. I'm sure you or someone else will find the right picture.

Bunks
I might have bunks but my hair is a little shorter these days. That is such an uncanny shot of Frank with the green key lime pie. Happy Hour is Happy Hour - it's not Potluck... the potluck follows Happy Hour in the WDCU... Frank - show them what it's all about my man!!!
