I know that everyone will have a really great time, Rich has planned on some very nice lectures and informative meetings. Sandi and I are sorry we will be missing this first of possibly many more to come event. On the bright side, you won't be bored by one of my lectures or discussion round tables. We will be out at the American LeMans Series for the weekend. Look forward to hearing some great things from you all after the event.

Priorities?!?!

Now there's a couple with conflicting priorities! I'd vote with ya and get to the ALMS as fast as I could. Cannot wait until the big race across the pond and the best battle on the grid pitting the Astons and the Vettes. Start your engines!
HAPPY TRAILS

BTW, I have a couple of items to sell at the VTJ flea market that are too big to bring down unless I know somebody wants them. They include a used (but in perfect working condition) Dometic RM2862 refrigerator at a bargain price, and a 1963 Serro Scotty Sportsman 15-foot single-axle trailer.

If you are attending the VTJ 08 and interested in further details on either of these items, reach me through my Contact form.

Hi Kathy!

You, Tex and Wags coming?

I couldn't find generator hours either.
Not too many people have ever camped on this turf.
At most campgrounds, quiet hours are usually from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.,

but this ain't most campgrounds.

I think the setting here is more like a college campus (with frat parties, frisbee golf and hacky sack) than a KOA.

For those of you who do not know,
bugs is a true Southern Belle who really knows how to cook!
bugsbunny can park next to me ANYtime!

Yes we are planning to come as part of our vacation. We were planning to go to Montana, but couldn't get 3 weeks off as planned since I have a new job at work. We look forward to seeing you there!

Generator hours

We haven't settled on exact generator hours yet, but they will be published in the final schedule. Only quiet generators will be allowed, and they will be parked together.

Our goal is to allow generator use for re-charging batteries, and for brief use of AC-powered appliances during the day. While you shouldn't expect to fire up the generator to microwave your coffee at 7 a.m., or run your air conditioning all day, there will be reasonable hours to allow everyone to do what they need to do.

Mistral Blue nailed it:

non rally rally

Hey Rich,
Do you mind if we ask the mods to put the VTJ on the forums rally schedule? I know that the VTJ is not a forum rally or a WBCCI rally, but it would be nice to see just how many forum members will be attending!!

Rich,
I just added VTJ to the Rally Calendar. You might want to check my attempt to see if you would add any other information....

it's good to read that the first i.m.p.r. * is developing nicely...

and that rich has agreed to arrange the camping and ancillary entertainment.

that's to safari62 and m'blue and o'62 for getting the the pie rolling.

because MUCH can be accomplished with pie, besides filling the pie hole...

-world peace begins with a piece of pie...

-friendships are made with a wedge of pie not a wedgie...

-neighbors bond over a sweet layered triangle not a fence...

-the labors of those growing things come2gether in pie...

-favinoids and phytochemicals are best understood with berries and cherries and chocolate silk...

-crusty feelings are soothed with banana cream, coconut custard or pumpkin pie...

-apples and pears and peaches and strawberries can reach sublime heights when sliced and baked...

and so on...

imagine for example IF everyone taking a trailer tour was offered a slice of pie....

it would seem those giving tours would need LOTS of pie for this,

so imagine IF everyone TAKING the tours brought the hosts a round offering of pie...

the spreading of pie would be self perpetuating and no one would go without pie...

true karma is realized by giving and sharing pies...

i can see npr doing a story on the i.m.p.r. and it would go something like this..

"folks from around the globe have gathered at saratoga springs to celebrate pie...

and it seems they carry them in shiny silver tubes"

it WILL make headlines and is truly news worthy.

i haven't checked the schedule yet, schedules can change...

besides i'm a PIE-rate and not subject to schedules or rules, only TREATies...

yes pie could be had at happy hour, but ANY hour with pie is happy!

again it is wonderful that rich has arrange a nice venue for this celebration and is handling ancillary activities...

but the first i.m.p.r. belongs to the folks sharing the pies... it's a pie-roots effort.

-so who else will bring pie?

-what day/s or night/s shall we have pie?

-shouldn't we embrace cobblers and tarts and other derivates of pie?

-how many fruits and flavors can we enjoy?

so while o'62 has offered up some peach, what ELSE will there be?

i've read that spring water makes a wonderful beverage with pie...

will there me MORE PIES springing up?

a slice of peace to all...

1) Abe, you can steal any text from the official Jam website to add to the forums "rally calendar" description. If you can, it would be nice to have a link to this thread also.

2) I should be clear, I didn't do all the work for this. Colin Hyde of GSM Vehicles discovered the location and has being handling a lot of logistics; Steve Hingtgen of Vintage Trailer Supply came up with the idea and is handling sign-ups etc; Brett Greiveldinger has been doing huge work in the background arranging sponsorship and prizes; and I'm just part of the team. So they deserve the praise (and blame, if any!) as much as me.

3) I think 2air's idea of the I.M.P.R is superb, and I'll ask my other half if we can contribute to the PIE-rate theme, but would somebody please adjust his medication today?

ok then, i had a feeling u were just the pretty face on this thing...

so heavy praise (and a slice of pie) for colin, steve, brett too!

and double crusted kudos to the big E who will make a fine pie to be sure...

it's not my medication,
but just the anticipation...

of pie in many flavors,
small slices are BIGf favors...

the gathering will be nice
bring a plate and have a slice

with a nod to the planners
who now are really JAMmers...

come one come all to the v.t.j.i.m.p.r.

(it must be the sun, elevation and 55mph tail wind...

pushing me across the HIGH points of wyoming, in search of pie)

cheers
