Finally had a chance to check on this - when you call they are supposed to put you through to the group reservation line - did not know that when we set it up - anyway - we will confirm this in the morning and update the website with a number direct to the group reservation line....

You don't have to be a commercial member to post add like this?

Not a commercial venture. It's a rally aimed at teaching. Not a moneymaking thing.

That is correct - we do not make anything off of this event - everything we collect goes back into the event - we bring in professionals to teach how to rebuild/restore these great coaches - yes it does cost us a lot to bring these folks in - its the only event where you can stand shoulder to shoulder with these folks and watch and learn from them - it is a very rare opportunity to be able to do that - these folks are in business to do what they do, but by attending you get hands on experience for a very reasonable price - compared to what it would cost if you hired these folks to help you with your projects.

These presenters fly in or drive in from all over the US to one place where you can learn all phases of Airstream restoration - you won't find this collection of learning in one place anywhere - indeed we are very fortunate to have these folks - be sure to thank them when you see them !

I'm also pleased to announce that we have Lewster joining us again this year - as you may know from these forums, Lew is the owner of Master Tech RV - he does very high end solar installations and a very popular presenter at this event - if you want to know how to properly install solar or want to know the proper way to install anything electric, he will teach you the correct way - last year he was one of our most popular presenters. Lew is an engineer by training and years of experience to draw from.

I'm not looking to start any big debate, but why is video verboten? I'm curious if there is any chance this policy might change, it sure would be great to be able to refresh after the academy is over.

Sorry to say there will be no change in this long running policy

We are currently finalizing the schedule - and our professionals are putting together their presentations - looks like another great year for this event !

We can hardly contain our excitement about coming to this Academy!

Trip planning in process...............what might we expect weather-wise both daytime and evening? (I know we can find out average temps for there, which we've checked out, but I would like to hear from a human being what they normally encounter in Albuquerque at that time of May.)

Thanks.

Send a message via Skype™ to Melody Ranch
Wind at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Sun...HOT sun on the West side of the trailer...and the entire west side of the Park. Nice weather other than that. Take a hat. Comfy shoes. Sun glasses. If your driving, bring a folding chair. There are never any chairs at the various demos.

Robin, thanks so much, that's just the type of info we were hoping to hear!

Hot in May, huh? With all the long, long winter we've been having this year, warm sounds, good, so really won't complain, but I was hoping for more like 75 to 80 degrees F -- can't blame a gal for trying, right? haha

Well it really does not get much above the low 80's in early May :-)

Ken the class schedule looks great, you guys sure are going to be busy, and hoarse from so much talking. Four weeks from now we'll be sitting in a seminar soaking up the knowledge and sinking deeper into Aluminum Oblivion. Still trying to decide which trailer to bring but so excited!! I feel like a kid waiting to go to Disneyland.

Ken, if we were to bring something for a donation, could we donate it to the raffle? Or is that just for vendors donations? Also, we're assuming you'll have the swap meet again? 'Cause we have some "stuff" for that!
