Vintage Rally in Alameda!!

I just read the announcement for the rally at Auctions By The Bay, which takes place just a stone's throw from where I live. In fact, It's at the former Alameda Naval Air Station, where my husband was stationed. I'm going to be away camping that particular weekend, but I do come home Sunday and I'm only going to the Delta area and will be back by early Sunday afternoon. I might try to come Saturday night for the events as well. If anyone is planning to go, I'll be there just to look and get giddy over aluminum, and you're welcome to come to my house and see my trailer, and talk Airstream. I'd love to hook up and meet some other 'streamers in person. I've been to the Auctions By The Bay event before, but not when Airstreams are there.

The view of San Francisco from the location of the rally is truly wonderful.

I've been to a show, but not an auction. There are tons of antiques there, and by that I mean really antiques, not flea market stuff. It's HUGE.

I just got an email from the guy running the trailer part of it; he does restorations in his shop on the base. I had no idea! He's doing a '58 Spartan right now. I'm going to call him soon and pay a visit, just for fun.

Although I'm not going to be there rallying, because my trailer is gutted and not towable, I plan to pay the registration fee and see the talk by Doug Keister and tour the USS Hornet. I've done that before, it's always fun though.

We are going! Cant stay overnight (no dogs allowed) but we will be going to the events. Sounds like fun!

We'll be there. We're bringing our Midget Trailer. The '48 just got a new floor last weekend so it's a long ways from going anywhere at the moment. Stop by and visit.
