TCT Majestic Mt. Baker Rally

Calling all Northwest area Airstreamers! The Tin Can Tourists Annual Majestic Mt. Baker Rally will take place at the Deming Log Show grounds August 18th-20th.

Doug Keister will be attending again this year, and will give a presentation on his latest book, "Mobile Mansions". There will also be a pizza feed, potluck dinner, open house, and swap meet. Also, rumor has it that many members of Sisters on the Fly will be there with their fabulous trailers.

We attended last year and had a blast - you won't want to miss this rally. Check out the rally calendar and see more pictures here. Registration takes place on site - just show up since there's plenty of room.

Hope to see you there!

Cool - glad you're coming. That means our Caravels can meet!

There's lots to do in the area: Mt. Baker, the Nooksack River, mountain biking at Lake Padden, the Dutch town of Lynden, and more! The rally site is grassy with trees, and there are displays of antique logging equipment too.

Can't wait!

We were there last year and had a tremendous time. The people in attendance were very enthusiastic and the hosts were great. The whole atmosphere is one of relaxation, sharing knowledge and good laughs, and very friendly. Looking forward to being there again this year.

Thanks for posting info on this Mel. Even though we have a new trailer it would be great fun to see all the vintage ones.

We'll see if we can make it.

Just talked to the Ewings for the information on this rally and we are very excited to see all the vintage trailers. I guess we better start polishing
Sounds very laid back and fun....just my kind of rally!
Nice of you to put the info up on the forum, since you don't have to pre-register, its nice to have the location to show up at!

Caravan to Mt. Baker?

We will be traveling up from Bend, Oregon. I'm not sure what day we will be leaving yet, probably Wed. eve./Thursday and stay somewhere along the way.
It sounds like some people are going up as early as Tuesday.

Looks like I'll be there too. My first rally.
I'm excited - What should I expect besides having fun?

My experience at rallys - if you come expecting to have fun, you probably will!

We'll be heading up Friday morning, in a caravan of 2. My parents will be towing the Caravel with the Suburban, and we'll have the Safari & truck.

Be prepared to give a lot of tours - last year, Saturday was pretty much one big open house, with people coming from all over to check out the trailers and vintage cars. It's very low-key, though. We just hung out in our campsite, and every once in a while would wander off to tour other trailers. Some people got really into decorating their campsites, and some wore retro clothing as well. Totally up to you. It was a very friendly bunch of people and yes, we did have a lot of FUN!

We did a TCT / AZRoundup meeting earlier this year in Cottonwood, AZ. Lots of great rigs and lots of great people. We had a blast. Two other forum members were onsite as well. My wife made the comment to me after seeing all the other trailers, "We don't have a theam". Many of the smaller rigs (teardrops) had theams such as Coca-cola, Route 66, cowgirls (sisters on the fly) etc. I told her that our team was 1975 Airstream Trade Wind!

Dang it, I just found out our annual family summer BBQ on the river is the same weekend as this rally. The BBQ always wins! Sorry guys, have fun and take lots of pictures. One of these years I'm going to make it there!

We just talked to the Ewings and are going up for sure. We can't leave until late Thursday from Eugene, Or.

Does anyone have any good ideas for an easy overnight camping stop in southern Washington on the way up?

If you want to swing by Battle Ground you can stay in our front field (or Battle Ground Lake State Park is right across the street).

Hi folks

My wife and I were going to attend this rally to get lots of pointers for our 67 Caravel restoration. We usually travel with our dog, Cassie. I see on the website for the Deming Grounds that dogs are not allowed. Is this the case for the Rally as well?

Thanks

Jerry

What a ton of fun this was. We met some incredible people, saw some awesome work done by people I'm humbled by, and the polishing seminar by Ron was very helpful. Mel, it was good to meet you and Lee finally.

We had to leave early Saturday evening due to me getting a round of the flu but glad we made the trip.

As for dogs there had to have been 20 or more thereabouts and no one seemed to mind - they are part of most people's family. The thing that surprised us was the number of travelling cats. On leashes, out for walks, it was great to see. We'll be there next year again for sure. Pat and Joanne sure put on a wonderful event once again.

Thumbs up What a Great rally with Fun People!

We just got home....long drive back.
So fun talking with you, Brad and Kacey....hope you had a safe trip home.

I think it was funny, that almost everyone went antiquing and to garage sales, in their free time...........I guess if your into old trailers ...........your in to old junk!
