Are you referring to those hairpin turns where the front of our truck cab and the back of the trailer were almost nose-to-nose?
....followed immediately by the signs "Rough Road Ahead"? Breathtaking scenery though, well worth the drive!
High water is right! When we stayed at the River Campground of Watoga State Park, the site was beautiful, but the Greenbriar was running high, fast, and muddy. By the end of our stay it had gone down by several feet and the water had cleared to a really pretty green....but then we were leaving, so the W. Virginia fish are safe for now....until our next visit at least. The Ramp dinner was a disappointment, I must confess, but from all I've read ramps are best incorporated in dishes, not served as a boiled mass of greens, which is what this particular place did. Should have bought some fresh ones and tried cooking with them myself....that's for the next trip, I guess.
