TAC New England

Well it is a great weekend for camping. Go figure in March. If this is global climate change I am all for it. So if next weekend offers similar weather a TAC gather could happen at Nickerson Park Family Campground
They are year round and have lots of room.

Need a shake down.

Bring your sleeping bag. You can sleep under ours it if rains. Actually if it rains you'll get wet as we'll be home....

My muse actually suggested we break out the tent and go old school.

Just checked the 10 day weather report though.
I'm either getting too old or I'm just a big fat wuss.

You gonna bring the smoker?
Got some Penzy's last night. I may have to try a new rub.

I clarified a pound of butter you can use to get the new rub to stick...
Close enough to bring the smoker on the front of the truck. "She" gets all worked up over that. We'll be watching the weather. Not doing wet or cold. "She" thinks I should work on the overheads....

Where's the green machine...?

Getting ready. Taking it to another level.
The new TV will have to wait.

Holy Schneikies!! When did all this happen?

Did they have to do the whole floor, or just in back?

is it going to be ready for Chillyman?

Hopefully, you'll get a bigger grey tank out of the deal....

1) Feb/March. It's still going on now.
2) Just the back floor and a section under the water heater.
3) Don't know.
4) Bigger grey.
5) Etc.....

Amanda is "totally into it!" (Me too. )

Next weekend, March 26-28, Easton, CT:

1st 3 rigs under 30' get free 20 amp, rally style aqua, and wifi. Black tank dump available too. There's room for a few cars too if you want to leave your dream 'stream home.

We have neighbors who can accommodate the bigger rigs, but it would be "boondocking" (with dump available here).
I'd need to know soon if any of you big boys and girls are coming so I can get them ready.

Come and go whenever you want.

Add a stamp to your passport! Weir Farm National Historic Site - Operating Hours & Seasons (U.S. National Park Service)

Some really nice hiking/geocaching/letterboxing spots nearby too.

Do what you gotta do today so you can come here next weekend!

Now get to work!!!

We're in... Seriously. We could never say no to Mr. Blue. We were actually going to head out friday for ten days. Our destination was the Western North Carolina, but Easton CT is kind of on the way. See you Friday afternoon.

Wink All roads go through Easton next week!

I can assure you Frank that there is no better route from Baltimore to Western NC than through Easton, CT.
_______________

Now as for a theme.... There MUST be something we can use for inspiration in the following two quotes:

"It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!" ~Mark Twain

"The first day of spring was once the time for taking the young virgins into the fields, there in dalliance to set an example in fertility for nature to follow. Now we just set the clocks an hour ahead and change the oil in the crankcase." ~E.B. White, "Hot Weather," One Man's Meat, 1944.
_______________

I DO have it on pretty good authority that both Mark and Elwyn were connoisseurs of smoked meats. I'm thinking, therefore, that to honor these exceptional wordsmiths, I should smoke something for Saturday's dinner. Problem is, I don't have a smoker. I usually just "smoke" stuff in the oven. Turns out great IMO, but I don't want to offend anyone either.

Weather permitting, we'll have campfires roaring Friday and Saturday nights. The rest of the "schedule" will depend upon what folks want to do. I'm envisioning that our weekend together will play out like a Miles Davis improvisation.

Travel light. I've got just about everything here (except for a smoker ). Fresh water hoses would be a good idea but not necessary.

** Forgot. I have a Honda 3000 genny available for a 4th rig. **

Richard & I would definitely be in but we will never get the Caravel off the Mountain with the mud season we are having (ref: "#064 Must Be Spring" thread, post #8. For a rough idea of what our town road looks like, ref.: Capetown To Cairo film.) Besides I'm still trying to get over what’s going on with VT. What in *&*^% happened?

As Miles would say..."less is more".

I think we should consider this philosophy for more rallies.
