How?
I'm not at the computer with the necessary pictorial evidence.
(Yes, Colin took a picture of this too. )
Amanda still hasn't spoken a word to me about it....
She just blankly stares through me, probably wondering what the hell she's doing with me.
For now, I'll let you guess at what it is I must have done.

I guess you could summarize by saying, "if you were ever going to want to do this, now would be the time".
The thing I wonder about is that there may be a very good reason to NOT do this, as I described. Things move back there...maybe its not a good idea to attach the toilet to a tank via a 6" lever. (?) dunno. If everything is bolted to solid structure, nothing should be able to move independently. Airstreams shouldn't ever leak, either.
The basic concept of replacing a floor-mounted tank w/ a sub-floor tank is do-able enough; just replace the toilet w/ a floor mounted toilet, too. But in these particular bathrooms, that would require a complete re-working of ALL the curvy plastic fixtures, which are designed to work together, or not at all. And that would be neither easy, nor cheap, by anyone's standards.

Man....if this soirée took place last weekend we would have been there! Kiddo has his first race in Freetown MA this weekend.
I can't believe VT!!! WOW ..... your lucky it will be to your specs once it's done. I feel the same way about ours as you...it's a keeper no matter what we endure.

We're In
I sweet talked my wife into making the trip . So tomorrow I'll pull Katarina out of the orchard, dewinterize her, set up and restock the inside, run a systems check, and she should be in shape to travel. Now all I have to do is take my wife out to eat for every meal while we are there . we're looking forward to adding Connecticut to out list of states in which we camped, as this will be the first time we're actually overnighting in The Constitution State.

Fan-freakin-tastic Carl!!! You're bringing Bailey Beagle too, I hope.
Tell Elaine she's in luck. We've got some great restaurants around here:
Don's Osteria, Frank's International House of Scrapple, and Paul's Smokehouse!
We'll park you under the Charter Oak when you get here.

Would anyone like me to pick up a prime, full, untrimmed, brisket to put in that smoker? I will bring a few pounds of scrapple for sure guys. I will do my best to get that from the amish butcher but cannot promise...

Yep, when a trailer is a "keeper" and it's such a big part of your life, a renovation once in a while is an investment in your future. If I still owned VT, I'd do everything mistral blue is doing, and probably more! It's a great trailer and absolutely one of a kind.
Looks like the owners have got the concept of a " lifetime trailer." Even if repairs are expensive, fixing & upgrading is usually a better deal than throwing it out and buying another one. And from what I've seen, VT is going to come out of this renovation substantially better!
See you guys on the road!

I'm trying to figure out our eventual "cut-off" point on the Minuet - fix and remodel it to a certain point, and then just save up for a five-year-old 23' International Serenity in 2015...but that might be trying to be too logical...
Funny thing - with your Argosy at Colin's, and my Argosy at Frank's - does Skip have the only functioning Argosy trailer left in Connecticut?!?

It gets used. just not by me. but, it is also not completely functioning as I've taken apart the black water drain piping and valve.
Party?!?!? Don's house!! This weekend?!?!? May I drop in? I could bring the Argy down but I'd have to use someone else's facility.
I've identified some sort of electrical issue with the Overlander. I've not had time to check it out. In addition neither trailer has been dewinterized yet.
Can I just stop by?

Sorry if I was too critical. Okay I’m over the VT shock.
I grew up with master trades man. Remember the Italian joke about family and tradesman? My parents renovated houses, and trailers, motor homes, fifth wheels, etc. over the years. I have seen a lot of gutted houses & trailers. I have learned a lot about flex joints, plumbing, electricity the earthquake theory etc. which can wreck havoc in a new rig. I have also seen a lot of bad work done on my house. Did I ever tell you about the guy who did work on my upstairs? Installed the sub floor to the height of the finished floor???????????
I’m glad you have seized this as an opportunity to upgrade things you want in the trailer. Carpe diem! I think I would too. VT is one of a kind. I feel the same way about the Caravel just because of the story behind it.
Will you be making any other interior changes?
Robin
