TAC in Western Maryland

Anyone interested in a leaf peeper weekend? We are going to go to Greenbrier State Park the weekend of October 15, 16,17. We have reserved Cedar 29. There are currently 5 or 6 more in a row open with electric.
The park is very nice and the Appalachian Trail runs through it. We will take a hike to Annapolis Rocks and hopefully see some beautiful leaves. This is nothing big, just an excuse to get out. Yes, I will make breakfast...

Read the fine print about no booze... It is allowed in your trailer. I think a red cup will disguise it enough also.

We'll be bringing our dogs so we've booked a spot in a different loop.
(Hopefully we'll be able to survive without electric for two nights. )

I have now read the fine print. Yes, I will be filling your red cup....

Went to my butcher this morning. I obtained bacon, of course, along with some special porterhouse steaks. Just to make your mouth water, here they are...
sorry due to technical difficulties no upload
Dry aged prime porterhouse.

Leaving first thing in the morning for Fort Fredrick to take the tour and hopefully learn a little about some history. Sometime after lunch we will roll into Greenbrier. So looking forward to the weekend. Saturday after breakfast we will be heading to Antietam National Park to walk the battle field and yes, probably the tour. We are tourist right? Then on the way back to Greenbrier we can stop off at the original Washington Monument. A beautiful spot to see the fall color.

The weather is looking sweet after tonight...

One of our intrepid hiking historians fractured their young and still growing ankles yesterday -- slightly.

(The doctor called it a slight "chip" fracture.)

He's got a splint on it now and is totally jazzed about having crutches!
He asked me to make him an apple pie to bring this weekend.
Any objections?

No?

Good!

We'll see you guys tomorrow
