TAC: Feeler/Poll: TAC Walt Disney World Rally 2012!
All,
We are currently planning on a rally at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, located in Walt Disney World during the 2012 camping season (I know, sounds really early, but a large complex rally such as this requires a good deal of lead-time to coordinate, reserve and book).
At any rate, with larger groups we can get decent discounts when booking 10 or more spots within the campgrounds. We plan on formally announcing everything once we finalize the date, and are soliciting help in choosing ONE of the following:
Feb 5-11 ($41/night based on 2011 pricing, value season, so these might go up)
July 8-14 ($63/night, regular season)
Nov 4-10 ($41/night, value season)

We'll make any of the three work. We voted our preference, though.

July is hot, but easier with kids in school. My wife is out of school too, unless they go to year round school! I may make the other work, we would love to go to Disney.

Disney is certainly something to see! I can understand your view point with school. We'll see what the consensus is.

Disney
Greeting, I was reading some of the posts on the forums and came across your about the rally you would like to have at Disney. So I just went and looked at your web site and joined up. I would love to attend your Disney rally and would vote for Feb. or Nov. and agree with the other person, July is just too hot here in sunny Florida to enjoy the outdoors allot.

Awesome, and welcome to TAC!!! Be sure and join our member forums here on airforums once you've gotten your TAC ID (which should be a little later), by clicking the User CP link on the top, then clicking on Group Memberships ( http://www.airforums.com/forums/prof...editusergroups). Once there, locate The Airstreamer's Club, click the radio button that says Join Group, and be sure and put in your TAC ID.
Again, welcome to TAC and we look forward to seeing everyone next year at the rally (whatever date it ends up being).

Feb or Nov would probably be better, as it is cooler and much less crowded. Also, Florida residents cannot use their seasonal pass in July.

If you haven't voted but are interested in attending, please be sure to vote, as it will ultimately drive the decision.
Thanks

July is way to hot!
I vote for Nov. It is less crowded than Feb and the Feb weather is not as predictable. Yes it is during the school year (no longer an issue for us) but kids can be taken out of school for a week. We did it years ago for our Disney trip and do not regret one minute of it.

Would have to vote for February or November. While July is attractive from school/work perspectives - - the temps would make for a miserable time in July.

Another thing to consider is the rates. July is a peak season and even with a discount the rates will be higher than Feb & Nov.
Rates for Feb without Discount (this years)
week day - $46
Weekend - $49
July Rates
weekday - $66
weekend - $69
Nov Rates
weekday - $50
weekend - $53
There should be some good discounts but the is the "normal" rate for those times

You can't change it, but I'll make a mental note of it -- thanks!

November and February are value seasons. The first week in June was Gay Pride week and I've heard it's a busy one...but I've never been at that time. the Birthday bash is the end of june beginning of july so many will be trekking to PA and not wanting to do both FL and PA.
I don't really have a guess as to why not May but there had to be specific dates for the vote.....

Andrea here...
I just pulled up some dates and tossed them out there. I tried to stay away from March, April and May because those were the "peak season" times and even more expensive than "regular season" which is June, July and August. We were looking at it as early winter, late winter, or the middle of the summer when kids would be out of school.
The dates in the poll weren't meant to lock in any particular week but more to gauge which time of year people are most interested in going with an estimated cost at that time of year.
