Thanks for the response. Turmoil in the employment world is nasty, I know. We live in Michigan where things have been unsettled for years. But it looks like for the state that the picture is getting brighter or maybe all who were out of work have quit looking or left or both.
Anyway cheers.
Perhaps a rally will materialize.

I think we missed it bud. I think the last launch was Feb. 25.
We could get together and launch some bottle rockets though

Sorry I missed this one. I am at home recovering from surgery. However, I would be interested in the next launch. I'm a CS at NASA/MSFC and have stayed at KARS but it was quite some time ago. Let me know if you plan another event.

Rumors abound that the April launch will move to the right a month or so to allow for some extra tank testing. May know more by end of week. Place was crazy for Discovery launch - heard KARS was standing room only. No launch flyers have been distributed for KARS as of yet.

Opps, my bad Steelegood. So there are two more shuttle launches?
STS 134 is Endeavour's last and STS 135 is Atlantis' last?

You got it. Released launch dates: STS-134 on April 19, STS-135 on June 28. Both dates subject to change - 134 due to suspect ET and extra tank work, 135 due to NASA wanting to allow for the last chance to supply space station before the end of US manned space.

Can you believe that? END of US MANNED SPACE. I presume it will return one day but for now, NOTHING is in place. We'll hitch rides to the ISS...

I believe it. Some people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Hey Sky:
Thanks for the links... great pictures, working graveyard has it's disadvantages (not always able to keep up with the latest news). Would have liked to have been there either for lift off or tomorrows landing!

Regards, Terry

Endeavor is still on the NASA website as scheduled for 4-19. We booked Manatee Hammock in hopes that the date holds. Dunno if there are sites left, but if anyone is interested, see website: Manatee Hammock Campground on Florida's Space Coast We went down in our Casita for the November launch but it kept getting postponed, and unfortunately, we had to leave to go back to work ($#@!!&& grumble, grumble)...We have lived in Florida since 1990 and never seen a launch upclose...hope we get to see one of the last two.

Laura,

Is 134 still on for April 19? I checked the manifest site today and they still have it listed. Are you reserving sites at KARS or do we need to do that ourselves?

You probably already know, STS-134 is now scheduled for launch on April 29. If you want to camp at KARS, you will need to make reservations--- they require payment in full at time of making reservation!

And STS-135 will probably continue on it's June 28 target date. Rumors of moving it later in the year have been squelshed.

A really nice video showing processing of the shuttle at KSC. Poignant closing statement.

Today at 1:30 EDT, NASA Administrator Charles Bolden will define the resting place of each shuttle vehicle. Let's hope one stays at KSC!

You got your wish Laura. Atlantis will stay at KSC as it should be. I am so glad that all of them will remain intact. It would have been a real shame if parting them out to satisfy more museums was the final story for these historic birds.
